CUViper 0 Posted October 7, 2000 Hey inferno.... in your system spec, you say you have 384mb ram, 393 listed. I'm willing to bet that that the "393mb listed" was really 393,216 kb ram. That's because 1mb = 1024kb, so 384mb = 384*1024 = 393,216kb. just a little fyi... Share this post Link to post

It was powered by a 8 MHz 80286 that I overclocked to 12 MHz (change of quartz)!!! Memory: 2 megs of 80 ns dil chips, of which 1 meg of paged extended memory. HD: 40Mo. Video: Hercules monochrome 720x348 if I remember. OS: MsDos 4, then 5 with dosshell. Pcshell/Pctools was a must at that time. Favorite programming language was TurboPascal. I wrote my first fractal generator in 1985. Incredibly fast with a separate 80287 math coprocessor : a whole day to draw a Mandelbrot set with 256 iterations! I found this nice Sierra soundtrack site http://www.queststudios.com/quest/sierrap1.html Wow! There are also a few MP3 recorded from a Roland MT32/LAPC1 sound card. If so, put me down wiht that(With the Atari keyboard so I could play pacman) Otherwise, Packard Bell 386/25 with 2 MB RAM and a 125MB hdd (Incidentally, my parents then moved 3 years later to a Packard Bell P1/100 with 16MB RAM and a 1GB drive, then a Hewlett Packard Athlon 700 this year...So many Packards, so little...whatever) Share this post Link to post
