Marktait, I have pretty much that exact system, except for a few components, and just an FYI, when you order ram, you can really only use the first 2 ddr slots, as the third is shared with the 2nd. So for 1GB, you'll either need a 1gb stick or 2 512 sticks. The third slot can only be used if a single-sided chip is used in slot 2 and a single-sided chip is in slot 3.

My new P4 Monster in my sig which still has to have the drives and monitor renewed yet and i hope to have another 1GB of ram eventually but im poor now laugh , and i havent had time to put my xp1800 in place of the Duron crap, my sis is to get the duron laugh

I'm thinking of getting a little better Athlon for my new LAN box. Right now that 1.2GHz Duron ain't shabby, but I really cringe at having PC2700 RAM and not even really being able to make use of PC2100 speeds. I'm really regretting not spending the extra $15 for that Athlon XP1600.

also, i am buying a new mobo / mem for my vaio, having alot of probs and the fact is it pc133 in there now really kills it.

 

anyone know of a good microATX board? with preferably pc2100 or higher support, or even rambus?

Although I am not an AMD fan, I would take a look at the Nforce2 boards, Mr. Guvernment... I know Asus has some microatx boards with the Nforce2 chipset.

thing is i don't want to buy a new cpu - be a waste of my 1.8 i already got. otherwise i likely would take a look.
