ahearnb 0 Posted June 7, 2000 Hi, i've got a microsoft sidewinder game pad. from what the cd says, it must be the original one. in the hardware pages on this site, it says i should be able to get it to work under win2k!! i can't! when i put in the cd and try to install it says to check the restrictions on the OS on the box, or some garbage like that. in fact, it does say, "designed for win95" on the cd. but, how did you (whoever posted on the site) get this piece of hardware to work with win2k? please respond if you think you can help. thanks! Beavis 0 Posted June 7, 2000 You don't have to load any software to get the pad to work. Go to "Settings", "Control Panel", "Gaming Options". Click on the " Add" button. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list. The third joystick from the bottom is the one you are looking for. "Microsoft Sidewinder (Auto Detect) Click on it and WHAM, BAM, Thank you Ma'am you are up and fraggin'. Share this post Link to post
