Baldur's Gate works fine in NT4/2000/XP without any modifcations. What error message do you receive?

Have you installed the latest video card drivers?

how come you have privater listed as the one that doesn't work? I thought you said you got it to work? (or were in using winXP?)

Oh well after messing around with the one i had i finally got it to run in win2k, granted no sound but no it still runs.

The original list is almost 2 years old, not sure if DosFreak has updated it recently; that would explain some differences.

DosFreak you are a DosSend--I mean GodSend! Thank you so much, I've been spending 2-3 days trying to get Betrayal at Krondor to work, no matter what I've tried, no luck. But I saw what you said about changing the Autoexec.NT and it works totally fine, even has sound and there's no need for the "compatibility mode" crap, thanks a bunch. But now I have another question, how do you get the Sierra installer to work because it keeps getting me a "Integer divide by zero" crap... I'm running Win XP Pro. I tried installing it on Win2k Server b4, but it gave me that crap too. I had a previous installed dir somewhere so I'm playing from that dir, but I wanna know how to install it using Sierra's install in case I every lose my current directory. Thanks a bunch.

DosFreak,

Your help to the 2K/XP gaming community is much appreciated. Thanks again for the C2 help.

I'd like to help out a bit myself and point out that Star Wars: Racer does not run without problems in Win2K/XP from the standard install. It needs two files to be replaced as described on this official LucasArts support page.

I haven't played recently but after playing probably 20-30 races didn't have the bug once. So hopefully this actually does eliminate the bug.

Also note that the game seems to have a quirk about joysticks... In order to play with my n45 gamepad, I had to disconnect all my other joysticks. I think it's picky about detecting only one joystick, though I could be wrong.
