Apple App Developer Giving away Their Earnings - Published on 10/02/09

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Texas based Silver Lining Ideas decided from inception that they were developing apps for one main reason, to help those that need help. Their main focus currently is animal rescue and the hundreds of small rescue groups that help the over 6 million animals that end up in shelters yearly. Currently, Silver Lining Ideas has one app on the Apple App store, Rescue Cleaner. This cute application has dogs that appear to clean your screen, while your download goes to helping them get into a good home.

Little Elm Texas - Have you ever looked at some of the applications (known simply as apps) on the Apple App Store, read about the amount of downloads they are receiving and thought, "wouldn't it be nice to make that kind of money?" Meet a development group with a different mindset, Silver Lining Ideas of Little Elm Texas, whose approach to Apple App development isn't about making money, unless you want to give it away.

Silver Lining Ideas decided from inception that they were developing apps for one main reason, to help those that need help. Their main focus currently is animal rescue and the hundreds of small "shoestring budget" rescue groups that help the over 6 million animals that end up in shelters yearly.

When asked about possibly giving away thousands of dollars every month, Steve Cobb, President of Silver Lining Ideas had this to say, "You know, we will be surprised if any of our apps make the top ten most downloaded apps and bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars. Of course that's ok, if we only make a little, then a little is what we send. Whether it's $50 or $5000, rescue groups are always in need of help and thankful for whatever is given to them. There is always a vet bill that needs to be paid and hopefully we can cover that bill or a part of it, that's why we did all this."

Currently, Silver Lining Ideas has one app on the Apple App store, Rescue Cleaner. This cute application has dogs that appear to clean your screen, while your download goes to helping them get into a good home. The price to download the application is on the high side of what most applications sell for at $2.99 but as Steve explained, "So you download a game that's less than ours. Most likely after 24 hours, you won't open that app but three or four more times, ever. Now what did you get from that? Enjoyment for a day, maybe two, that's about it. Why not spend a little more and have that great feeling of knowing every time you look at our icon on your iPhone, you helped a dog or cat find a new loving home."
