Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (lafcpug) will play host to an "All Star" panel of experts who will showcase the new features in Final Cut Studio, Apple's suite of post-production applications, on Wednesday, August 26 at the Gallery Theater in Hollywood California.

"About a month ago Apple released a new version of Final Cut Studio called, Final Cut Studio," said Michael Horton, current head and founder of lafcpug. "So immediately we starting planning this event to showcase some of the over 100 new features we felt everyone should see. We then went out and booked arguably the best experts in the FCS world to appear. And then we announced the meeting. Little did we know that demand to attend this event would be so overwhelming that we sold out in about 10 days. We currently have over 50 people on the wait list."

The "All Star" panel of experts Horton is referring too are Michael Wohl, Andrew Balis, Mark Spencer, Brian Gary, Diana Weynand, Larry Jordan and Kevin Monahan.

"These Gurus are among the best of the best in this industry, having not only written several training books and authored several training DVDs, but have also trained hundreds of people on Apple's Pro-Apps," added Horton.

"Each of them have their own expertise and have proven themselves as great communicators and problem solvers over the years. lafcpug is honored to have them."

Scheduled to appear on the agenda will be Andrew Balis who will show off Apple's Color 1.5. Brian Gary will show off Compressor 3.5 and Mark Spencer will show off Motion 4. The second half of the show will feature FCP co-creator Michael Wohl who will show off new features in FCP 7. In addition there will be another round of the popular "Stump the Gurus," where the audience will be able to ask questions and get problems solved from a panel of experts featuring Larry Jordan, Diana Weynand, Andrew Balis and Kevin Monahan. Rounding out the evening will be lafcpug's "World Famous Raffle" with prizes totaling into the thousands of dollars.

"There is no way we can show off all of the over 100 new features in Final Cut Studio in one night," said Horton. "So what we are going to do is to bring back our panel of experts in the 2nd half of the show and turn it over to the audience. This will be their chance to get their questions answered as well as offer up feedback and/or feature requests. This part of the show will be taped and later put on the web for the world to see and hear. It will be their chance to be heard."

More information about this sold out event can be found on the LAFCPUG web site.
