St. Clair Software today announced the release of Default Folder X 4.3. Default Folder X enhances the file dialogs in all Mac OS X applications. It provides fast navigation to your files, convenient previews, integrated Spotlight tagging, and more. Version 4.3 delivers support for Apple's new Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, as well as continued compatibility with Mac OS 10.4 and 10.5. It also provides improvements in Default Folder X's feature set and reliability.

This update adds full support for Mac OS 10.6 "Snow Leopard" as well as improving the compatibility and feature set of our award-winning utility for enhancing Open and Save dialogs. Honored with Macworld Magazine's Editors' Choice Award for Best System Enhancement Utility, Default Folder X makes Open and Save dialogs "work the way they should."

 

Default Folder X's custom keyboard shortcuts put your favorite and recent folders at your fingertips. Pop-up menus let you navigate your folders and open Finder windows. Previews and Spotlight comments and tags are there when you need them. Open, save, and get back to work: Default Folder X is workflow for the rest of us.

 

What's New:

Default Folder X 4.3 is a free update that fully supports Snow Leopard's 64-bit architecture, including its enhanced memory management and standardization on 64-bit preference panes. It also includes a fix for a problem that could cause Default Folder X's hierarchical menus to crash under Mac OS 10.6. Because of this, users who are upgrading to Snow Leopard should install this update immediately.

 

Those who are not yet upgrading to Snow Leopard will also benefit from this new version - it reduces processor usage when displaying previews and fixes several compatibility problems. In addition, it provides expert settings to resize all Open and Save dialogs to at least a user-specified minimum size.
