news 28 Posted May 22, 2009 News Item: Naked Sapphire 4890 Vapor-X Spotted News Story URL: http://www.pureoverclock.com/story3644.html "We got our hands on one of Sapphire's new 4890 Vapor-X cards and as you can see, it comes with a blue PCB and sports a cooler similar to that of its predecessor, the 4870 Vapor-X. The cooler uses a vapor chamber plate that makes direct contact with the GPU, transferring heat to a heatsink that is cooled by a single, large fan. The VRM area of the card is then cooled separately by its own smaller heatsink, as shown in the images below. With the cooler removed, you can see the naked card which uses Qimonda ICs. Our GPU-Z screenshot confirms that Sapphire uses clock speeds of 870 MHz (core), and 1050 MHz (memory). The card features 1 GB of GDDR5 memory and there are DVI, D-Sub, HDMI and DisplayPort output connectors provided. The card will reach hit retail shelves by the end of May and the list price will be $229.00 USD. Here are some photos below."
