Power Supply question

Recommended Posts

This doesn't matter all that much, but is there a way to run a powersupply without it being connected to the mobo(i.e. run 2 powersupplies, so that I can have more fans :P )

You know, I have no idea

As far as I know, unless you buy a proper server case with redundant power supplies

Actually - I really have no idea

Yeah, you can turn the case on without a mobo. (if that's what you're asking).

Just use an AT power supply, they don't require the motherboard to turn on or off. Or just buy a 400W ATX power supply and eliminate the need for a second power supply.

It's an AT---from my 486.

I don't have the fans yet...and it's not that I have a lot of fans(there will be a total of (let's see...1 for PS, 2 in back, 1 in front, 1 on side, 1 on cpu, and 1 on video card...7 fans, of which...well..3, soon 4 fans will be added to what I have right now)....but that I don't have enough plugins for all of them, and I can either get the extenders that split the line, or I can be a cheap bastard and use my AT powersupply.
