Ok. Im computer literate but not this much! Had a power outage a few weeks ago and it killed my dell 5100. It will not start in windows in any mode....Ive tried them all.

It always ends up with the blue screen reading......

ntfs.sys- address F766c1FC base at F765F000, datestamp 41107eea

Is there anyway to do this myself. For 2 reasons. 1 to learn more about computer workings and 2 to save myself the money for something that could be an easy fix! All iss appreciated and thanks in advance!

hardware failure, improper installation. reformat your hard-drive with a dos boot disk and then try re-installing with your OS or recovery CD.

cheers
