ctmm32 and devcon32

can some one please tell how to delete them its been bugging me for so long

ive tried netbus, ntfsdos everything

Investigation shows that the file devcon32.dll is by Creative, and is probably part of the SB driver set. So...

 

Disable/uninstall the SB devices in Device Manager.

Down the box.

Remove the card.

Up the box.

Delete the driver if it still is there.

I just booted into DOS and deleted them through there. You might also be able to boot into the command mode and do it from there. Before the main loading screen comes up press f8

you see i uninstalled the livewarez 3 lol and that left the 2 files since then i unistalled the drivers etc and it left them 2 there ive tried diableing everything under sound game controllers and it still wont let me

even in ntfsdos pro!!! its says access denied

i dont want to format because i can find my win2k cd

I suggest that you do what Yuppie suggested, and pull out the card then delete the drivers

If you think removing hardware is a pain in the rear, you can insert your Win2k CD (you have one, right???), and enter the recovery console.

 

From there you can delete the files. It saves time and the hassle of ripping parts out of your system.

 

I haven't tried yet, but this is a "theoretical easier solution." wink

THanks the recovery thing worked great

ps taking out the card does nothing windows still thinks the files are in use
