ATI 9700 Pro or ATI FireGL 880?

That's what I assume too. I don't pay attention to the Fire GL line (as they are pretty expensive). I'll wait to see if other people know anything about it. Thanks.

ATI 9700 Pro or ATI FireGL 880?

Not sure where to post this, but since it will using XP as the operating system, I guess i'll post it here. My brother-in-law will be using mostly photoshop to create pictures/graphical images such as those you see on the billboard or advertisement and I was wondering which of the two would be best for the job. He currently have a P4 2.?? GHz with 1GB of DDR Ram w/ 2 40GB in raid 1 (stripping). He told me that he saw them both at the store for pretty much the same price. I know that 9700 is for gaming use and 880 for professional use, but was unsure as to which one will be best for drawing/manupilating graphical images. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Thanks. I'll give that a try tonight. Hopefully this works.
  4. Hi, I just bought an ATI TV Wonder VE and ATI Radeon 9500 Pro and when I tried to install the MMC software, it would give me an error when it tries to detect my software/hardware capability test for TV tuner. It would indicate that my video card is not a rage 128 pro or recent. How can that be when I am running a Radeon card with it? I have tried to use the drivers from the disk for both card and I've also d/l the latest driver from ATI and it still gives me the same error. By the way, I am using an Abit BE6 m/b with a PIII 450MHz. Could it be that I have an old m/b that is causing this? or could it be that the TV card is not compatible with the Radeon 9500 Pro? If so, is it compatible with any of the Radeon card? I am running XP w/ the DX 8.1. I've also tried it with DX9. All this is done from a clean install. If you are wondering why I am using a new vid card with an old board is because I plan to upgrade the board sometimes soon. Any help would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Help with wireless dsl/cable router

oooops, I do have it setup that way and it still doesn't work. What dsl/cable router are you using? By the way, on the 98 computer, it was able to ping itself. So I guess I am not configuring the XP computer correct. What does Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network do? It's located in the network properties under the authentication tab. Currently, it is check and in the EAP type window, it is showing Smart Card or other Certificate. If I understand this corretly, it is only use for Smart Card right?
  6. Hi, I am planning to get dsl later so I just got a wireless dsl/cable router and I am trying to connect my two computer using a peer-2-peer network. Is it possible to do this without a dsl connection? Can it be use as a hub/switch without a dsl connection? I must be doing something wrong because I've been trying with no success. The wireless router is a DLink DI-614+ and it is connected to a XP w/ SP1 computer through a 3Com ethernet NIC and a Win98 computer through a DLink 520+ wireless card. Using the XP Computer, I can ping the router, but it can't ping itself. I haven't try the 98 computer. I'll probably try that later. If more detail is needed, let me know. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  7. Hi, I want to use 2 30 GB hard drive in a raid 0 and a 60 GB hard drive (possibly removable) in one system and I was wondering if that is possible. I'll be using the 60 GB HD as a backup drive so that I can take it from computer to computer. If it is possible, is it hard to do and does it require any other special hardware/software besides the raid controller to accomplish this? If you know anything about this combination, please let me know, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Diablo II LOD and XP limited account

Thanks for the information. I guess the limited account won't be able to play then. If they know the admin password then there's no point of creating a limited account for the user. Is there a way to create a users with specific limits besides the default limited account so that you can give them access to others stuff?
  9. I have Diablo II LOD installed on my computer with XP, but I am not able to play it with a limited account, but when I switch to administrator access, I was able to play it. Does anyone know how to make so that the limited account can also play it? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
