Can't exec "gtk-config": No such file or directory at Makefile.PL line 141.
Package 'gtk' needed but it was not detected on your system.
You may want to force it using --with-gtk-force if you know better than me.
Running make test
Make had some problems, maybe interrupted? Won't test
Running make install
Make had some problems, maybe interrupted? Won't install

Now after all the only one that conflicts with
perl-Video-DVDRip-0.50.3-0.i586.rpm
Is that transcode's needed says.
**transcode >=0.6.3- is needed**
Something went wrong with it ?
-
I already got the gtk Perl stuff , but why needs lynx though ?
Well i went through some errors in the ./configure make&make install about the avifile and transcode
Should i paste'em here so we both have a better background ? something about cd1 : bla bla dont remember
Was about the /usr.../lib ( libraries path ) so i have to
./configre --x-libraries=/usr.../.../lib ?
-
Pretty good , pretty neat
Sweet man i'll go try these out

-
Okay
You're welcome , though ahm sorry i wasnt be able to help you i

I was forced to get the newest XFree86ver though and within the XF86Conf i used max or 0 of the vga's mem and worked.*
*You know where you choose keyb mouse bla bla vga bla bla hz khz etc
Farewell
-
Within XF86conf there's a question about the shared mem ? Or something
like that , which X will use not sure cause i dont remember , it's
been a while since i was dealing with mandrake9.0 probs , ahm focused
in Suse 8.1 pro now so i cant be more helpful to you and ahm sorry ,,, try to get in kb the
total size of your vga's mem and see what happens

** Blured vision , fucked up fonts , interlaced mode like etc ... ?
-
My presario 2800 with ati radeon mobility 64mb works like a charm in
suse 8.1 pro , no more fucked up fonts , interlaced like mode n' blurred vision
*Chooose your ati in SAX2 , any monitor vim /.../XF86Config and add
the line crt screen within the ATI section
***With 3D enabled Quake3 dvd etc are flying , hell mode like.Smoothly
-
Suse 8.1 pro , frozen bubble denies to run
Perl SDL needed
Vorbisfile too
( Tell me your solution to tell you more ... )
-
As i said in the other topic the solution for the SUse 8.1 pro installation prob was to run install with the option :
hwprobe=-c03:*:* and before the reboot vim /mnt.../YaST2.firstboot and usb=yes to usb=no
Till the prob will be known cause it's still unknown you'll have to work w/o usb support
*The prob refers to some compaq presario and other laptops as well
Now the solution about ATI (blurred vission fucked up fonts etc ) so
instead of using vesa is to get the right ATI in SAX2 and then edit your /.../XF86config and add the line
in the section of the ATI
"Crt Screen"
**I have the dvd loss of frames during the playback solved so if anyone needs help just asks
**Xine so far
-
boot options for the installation
hwprobe=-c03:*:*
Then vim /mnt..../YaST2.firstboot ( usb=yes to usb=no )
USB will be disabled till the problem will be SOLVED cause it's still unknown
SUse 8.1 pro

The only thing that makes me ;( about linux is the need of new libs
and when you try to get one lib needs another one and that train aint
stopping till brakes your @@ for good
I wanted to get perl dvd rip to work so i could rip my loved one movies and all i get is lots of cocaine doses just to keep me trying
avifile>=0.7.27
libaviplay-0.7.so.0
liblzo.so.1
Where i could get these ?
If someone could help me out about it or give me a site so i could
find all the needed(all together cause ahm really tired looking 1-2
hours for each file and finaly wanted something else) and a dvd rip prog i'd appreciate it
Farewell

Xine's only works for me ( for the DVD discs , not avi mpgs etc )
Ogle runs but when i press open disc it just closes.
Xine's goes like hell and real smooth , if anyone wants help about the
frame loss during playback let me know ... i've managed to force the
dma in a scsi emulation combo dvd/cdrw in a laptop compaq and works fine
Btw if someone knows about the ogle prob i'd appreciate it.

The installation stops during the detection of the USB
controller or hangs at Activating Hotplug Devices [net pci
usb] when rebooting.
Cause
The cause is still unknown.
Solution
Note: The workaround described in these lines will disable
the USB support. The USB support can be easily reactivated
as soon as a solution for this problem is found.
Enter the following option at the beginning of the
installation:
hwprobe=-c03:*:*
This option suppresses the hardware probing of all USB
devices. Please note that at this stage you are working with
a US keyboard layout. Further information on this boot
parameter is available in the file
/usr/share/doc/packages/hwinfo/README.
Proceed with the installation. At the end, a message about
LILO being written to the disk will be displayed. Do not
confirm this message yet, but switch to the console 2 with
CTRL-ALT-F2.
A minor change must be performed in the file
/usr/lib/YaST2/bin/YaST2.firstboot so that the file
/etc/sysconfig/hotplug contains the variable
'HOTPLUG_START_USB="no"'. In our example we use the editor
pico, but this editor might not be installed depending on
your package selection. If pico is not installed on your
system, use joe (/mnt/usr/bin/joe) or vi (/mnt/usr/bin/vi)
if you are familiar with its operation. Enter the following:
/mnt/usr/bin/pico /mnt/usr/lib/YaST2/bin/YaST2.firstboot
Search for the following line (approx. line 80) with the
cursor keys:
lspci -n 2>/dev/null| grep -q "Class[[:space:]]*0c03" && USB=yes
and change it to:
lspci -n 2>/dev/null| grep -q "Class[[:space:]]*0c03" && USB=no
Quit the editor with CTRL-x, "y", and [ENTER]. Switch back
to the console 7 with CTRL-ALT-F7 and confirm the message.
Now the installation will be completed.
