Install an app as a service?

Ok, I have looked through a W2K CD but can't find either of those. Any ideas where it would be? Or do you have a copy of one of them that you could send me? Jon

Install an app as a service?

I actually came across that post right after I posted mine. I was looking for those tools on the XP cd but I will now need to see if I can find them on a W2K cd somewhere... Thanks, Jon

Install an app as a service?

I recall reading something about the possibility of installing an application as a service in Windows XP? Anyone know how this is done? Specifically, I use my own smtp server for mail sending and it currently loads at startup and runs all the time sending mail as I write it. I was thinking if I could load this as a service instead of a program it might be one less resource in use. Any tips appreciated. Jon

Turning on status bar in IE6/XP

Anyone know how to permanently enable the status bar in IE6 on XP? There is an option to show it in the View menu but it reverts to not being on when you relaunch IE... Jon

    what is rtmservice.exe?

http://www.protect-me.com/rtm/faq.html This seems like a third party software but it looks like Microsoft maybe licenses it for use with some of their OSes? I think it can be disabled from the Computer Services area along with a bunch of other things that most users don't need (can you say remote registry editing (-8)
