    I'm removing C:\ again

:EDIT: Nevermind I'm an idiot... I missread some of your post... :/EDIT: Wouldn't it be easier (and less of a head ache) to edit you boot.ini and take the Win Me section out? Leaving you able to delete anything you wanted (but not format), and not mess up your drive letters etc... Just a suggestion....

    Heh, check this crap out.

Those results are totally opposite of what I have experienced. I used to run win2k on my P3 1gig and it was SLOW infuriatingly slow. I'm talking 2 minute boot time slow. I've since gone to XP and my boot time is about 45 sec. It doesn't stop there either. I get better performance in games, and how quickly things load... I'm really curious as to why they get opposite results from what myself and the 10 other people I know in my dorm that run it do.

    Aopen DVD drive

The region is set correctly. I'm in the US and only watch region 1 dvds. I've even hunted down the firmware and updated that... I just don't know what else to do... it uses the same drivers as my toshiba (they both use the default xp cd driver), and it works perfectly... so well that when I couldn't watch a dvd on my ps2 because the cd was scratched too bad I tried my toshiba and it worked fine....

    Aopen DVD drive

I've got an Aopen DVD drive on another box, and the weird thing is that it works fine with normal cd's and can even identify when there is a dvd in the drive, but it just can't play it... Any ideas short of getting a different drive?

    HELP! Random Lockups

I just have the normal winXP firewall installed.... The first time I installed XP I did an upgrade from 2k (2k was stable). It worked ok up until Outlook express lost my inbox.... the whole file was there... it just wasn't readable anymore.... So I did a clean install (boot from cd) the second time, and I've had that lock up eversince... BUT as I said when I updated I pulled the nic that was sharing the irq with the geforce and everything is fine now...

    HELP! Random Lockups

Ok, I've been getting random lock-ups on the 2600 of Win XP and I can't get it to stop. Any help would be greatly appreciated... P3 1 GHz Soyo 7VCA (Via Chipset) 640 MB Ram Geforce 32mb (Asus v6600) 20 Gb and 30 Gb HD (Western digital and Seagate) SbLive X-Gamer (not 5.1) 2 Nics (Both Linksys) I really have no clue... I've tried changing video card drivers thinking that might be it, but default, 21.83's and 21.85's don't work... It might be the Via chipset, but I have no idea of how to stop it... Well thanks for any help! Update: I removed one nic because I wasn't using it and it was sharing an IRQ with my Geforce and I haven't crashed yet...
