Hi, How do you backup / restore the Active Directory? I just want to get prepared for the possibility that something might go wrong with the Server. If possible, I want to keep a backup copy of the active directory so that I can just restore it in another server with minimal reconfiguring in the new server. I'm running windows 2003 server

i just finished setting up a LAN. i shared one folder using "simple filesharing/networking". when i tried to access it from another pc, it asks for a login/password. how come? i didn't assign any login/password to that shared folder. and this doesn't happen to all the PCs within the LAN. some PCs within the LAN don't require login/password when accessing a shared folder in that PC. additional info: OS: windows xp pro sp1 (all PCs within in the LAN)

no, i dont want my filenames in big caps. i want them all in small caps. i always use my pc at home to create a website. my pc at home is running windows xp pro and i use dreamweaver mx. i use small caps for all my files in the website. lets say i have an index.html link to about.html . so that means that within the souce code of index.html theres an "href" to a file "about.html" . but whenever i bring my files to my pc in the office which is running windows 98 se, when you view your files through windows explorer, all the filenames are in big caps. index.html would now be INDEX.HTML or index.HTML and about.html would either be about.HTML or ABOUT.HTML. so when i upload the site. the link from index.html to about.html will cause an error since the server is case sensitive and about.html is treated as a different file from ABOUT.HTML has anyone experienced this problem? its a real hassle to rename all the filenames back to smallcaps.

i was working on a website at my place using dreamweaver mx. i have windows xp pro while my pc at the office is running win98 se my problem is that when i brought the files to the office to upload, most of the filenames are in caps already. but if i bring them home and view them in windows xp, they are all in small caps. can someone please help me? it totally ruined the whole website. images are not appearing since the filenames are in caps and they dont match with those in the html source code

im running IIS in my windows xp and i have some sites hosted in it. now how do i monitor the bandwidth usage? the hits and visits? do i need to install something? or is there a separate software for that? how do i setup an ftp server with IIS?

i was transfering files from my brothers pc to mine over lan (ethernet) and was monitoring the windows taskmanager. i was connected at 100mbps and network utilization is 25 to 30% Questions: - does it mean im only utilizing 30% of the 100mbps? (30mbps?) - is there a tweak or somethign i can do to increase it? ;(

is there a way i could schedule my xp to connect through dialup at a certain time? and is there also a way to schedule it to disconnect?

anyone know a program i can use to tweak my display colors? (brightness, contrst and gamma). i cant seem to get it right, either its too bright or dark ..

how do you limit access (or make it private) files/folders that are not in ur users profiles? like a file or folder on another drive? it was a lot easier on win2k pro.
