  1. There was a news post about a registry patch for GF3 owners in Windows 2000 which enabled AGP fast writes. I was wondering if anyone knows the registry value which needs to be changed, or if they can link me to this patch. I tried enabling fastwrites in my A7M266 bios, but WCPUID says it's still disabled.

    Detonator uninstallation problems

Ok, this is pissing me off. In the readme for NVCleaner, it says to change my video adapter to Standard Display Adaptor (VGA), but I can't find out how to do that for the life of me! When I try to change the driver and choose from a list, it's not in there. Help!

    Detonator uninstallation problems

You're using nvmax in win2k? I tried uninstalling them with nvmax once and it still gave me the same results.

    Detonator uninstallation problems

    please help!
  5. First off, I'm running Windows 2000 SP2 on a VisionTek GF3, but I use detonator drivers. After I uninstall a previous version of detonator drivers using the add/remove programs wizard, I have problems installing new ones. I go to hardware manager, right click on the VGA adapter, go through the whole update driver thing, specify location, blah blah. After installing the new drivers, however, it doesn't display the reboot prompt after installing. Often times I reboot manually, but then the drivers are messed up after I reboot and don't work. I was thinking that it might help to switch the display adapter to Standard VGA adapter after uninstalling the first drivers, but I couldn't find it in the driver list. Any help?
  6. I heard that the NTFS implemented by Windows XP and that of Windows 2000 are different, although both backwards and forwards compatible. I was wondering if there is a way to check which "version" of NTFS a drive has been formatted with?

    "Agp disabled" problem

I figured out why agp was disabled for me at least. I had to install the amd miniport driver from the a7m cd

    "Agp disabled" problem

Today I got my new system up, 1.33tbird, asus a7m, visiontek gf3 running under win2k sp2 (clean install). For some reason, it shows agp as being disabled in WCPUID and powerstrip. After I installed win2k, I installed via 4-in-1 4.31, then the official detonator 12.41's. Any ideas?
  9. Where can I download Nvmax? The download link on nvmax.com is broken. Also, what is the latest version? (non-beta).

    Problem with an old keyboard...

Hey, I have a somewhat old keyboard, although it is new enough to have the windows keys on it (which I readily removed). The problem that I've been having is that in games like Half-Life, it doesn't seem to recognize more than 3 keystrokes at once. For instance, when I hold down shift to walk, I can only move one direction at a time, i.e. I can't move diagonally. As you may imagine, this is quite annoying, and I was wondering if there's anything I can do to fix it, or is a new keyboard the answer?

    Getting rid of NetMeeting

I already tried that trick, Xiven. Although it did open up alot more options in the windows component dialogue, there's still no NetMeeting! Argh. Thanks for the tip, though. Anyone else have ideas about this?

    Getting rid of NetMeeting

I have a Windows 2000 Pro installation, with SP1 installed. How do I uninstall NetMeeting? I don't see it in the "Windows Components" section of the Add/Remove programs applet. Any help is appreciated.
