    interesting problem

Sounds like maybe your using an odd version of aflash.exe. Get the latest one here and then trying it. If that doesn't work contact Asus directly, these things are mass produced so there is the occasional SNAFU and it could be Asus' fault.

    What do these do?

The 3dfx Voodoo series of cards are not TRUE AGP cards like most of the Nvidia cards. So adjusting any AGP driving strength or value will have little if any effect. Here's some info from a site I can't recall tho on that portion of the BIOS. ----------------------------- AGP Driving Value Options : 00 to FF (Hex numbers) This option is slaved to the AGP Driving Control BIOS function. If you set the AGP Driving Control to Auto, then the value you set here won't have any effect. In order for this BIOS option to work, you need to set the AGP Driving Control to Manual. The AGP Driving Value determines the signal strength of the AGP bus. The higher the value, the stronger the signal. The range of Hex values (00 to FF) translates into 0 to 255 in decimal values. By default, the AGP Driving Value is set to DA (218) but if you are using an AGP card based on the NVIDIA GeForce2 line of GPUs, then it's recommended that you set the AGP Driving Value to the higher value of EA (234). Due to the nature of this BIOS option, it's possible to use it as an aid in overclocking the AGP bus. The AGP bus is sensitive to overclocking, especially in AGP4X mode and with sidebanding enabled. As such, a higher AGP Driving Value may be just what you need to overclock the AGP higher than normally possible. By raising the signal strength of the AGP bus, you can improve its stability at overclocked speeds. But be very, very circumspect when you increase the AGP Driving Value on an overclocked AGP bus as your AGP card may be irreversibly damaged in the process! BTW, contrary to some reports, increasing the AGP Driving Value won't improve the performance of the AGP bus. It is not a performance enhancing option so you shouldn't increase the value unless you need to. ------------------------------ Hope this helps.

New beta x3dfx Voodoo drivers: Well....

The WHQL drivers work fine for me also. In many cases it's the games that cause the problems and not always the drivers. For instance, Giants-Citizen Kabuto runs smooth for me until I get into a base building mission then my FPS drops to around 10. IMO this is not a driver issue but bad programming on the game makers part. I have no problems in playing games like UT, Tribes or Mechwarrior 4 because these games are always getting new patches and updates(well maybe not tribes).

    Nero Burning Rom

Hmmm, well I am stumped at the moment then. I did however find this: After the installation of the Japanese Internet Explorer or the Japanese Micorsoft Office on a Chinese system, numerous Chinese characters are shown wrongly. Through the installation of one of these two programs the Default-Font which is supposed to depict the Chinese characters is exchanged . The new Default-Font can only depict the Japanese characters. **Solution: Update Nero to 4.0.3.5 or newer. In File->Preferences->Language->Choose Font ... Please select a set of characters which can handle the script ChineseBig5.** Maybe this can help. The page is Here. [This message has been edited by CPORonin (edited 02 March 2001).]

    Lost my icons

Have you tried TweakUI's 'Rebuild Icons'? It's under the Repair tab.

    Nero Burning Rom

Could having a language pack installed have any effect on it? Possibly it also could be an access rights problem on the 'work' machine. Just throwing some ideas out there. Good luck.
