    Win2k on AX59 Pro???

I have tried different CD's, different HD's, but always the same error. Any ideas? I recently flashed my BIOS to the newest release and with that I lost 128 MB of my RAM. It will only see the SDRAM not the EDO at all. Please help I am stuck!! Okay, im willing to bet its a problem with the VIA chipset. Try this procedure, and bear with me: When installing Win2k, take out all peripheral cards from the Mobo, except of course the video card. VIA chipsets have a problem Win installations if not done according to a certain way. Whether or not its public information, i work for AOpen now, and believe me if u do this any other way, ull inevitably run into problems not long after installing Windows (any version). Install Win2k normally, having only the video card on the Mobo. After installation, the first thing you need to install are the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers, which should be version 4.25. After those are installed, then proceed to install ur video drivers. Once they have been installed successfully, shut the system off, and put in the rest of ur peripheral devices. I know this is tedious, and might even sound a little strange to you, but it should take care of that error ur having. However, I dont know how you can get the system to recognize the EDO ram along with the SDRAM... did u make a backup of the previous BIOS -- if u did, then you may be able to flash back to the previous state... if not, then u may just be stuck with the SDRAM... good luck.

I havent had a single problem with my SB Live since i first installed Win2k over 4 months ago. I have an original SB Live (before the Plat, MP3, or XGamer), have the latest Liveware, and no problems whatsoever... sound is crisp, f***ing badass, I love my sound card. So i guess im the luckiest of the SB Live guys

    Problem with nero5.0.2.4

Quote: Originally posted by perrin: thanks for all your answer, but i try a lot of things and nothing works Alright, you may not want to hear this, but try reinstalling win2k... clean install, repartition/reformat -- the whole sha-bang. I know its tedious, but when i first installed my Plextor 121032A, i installed Nero, and went through the same problems you have... Nero wouldnt recognize the drive, although win2k had no problems using it as a reader. After up[censored] CDRW bios, mobo bios, and latest drivers, nothing else worked. So i wiped out the partition, reformatted, and it fixed everything... I can even use DirectCD, EZ CD Creator, Nero anf CDRWin all on the same machine w/o a hitch.

    Shadowman

On the list of compatible games, it lists Shadowman as working under Win2k... however, after i install it, it doesnt run... the Shadowman splash screen/interface box just disappears, and then after abt 3-4 sec, the hourglass on my pointer disappears as well, and im back on the desktop. Sometimes, Shadowman.exe is still running in the background, sometimes its not. You guys know anything? Moderators -- can you check it out? Thanks...
