Any of you guys interested in detailing to me how to setup the DNS server included in Windows 2000 Adv. Server for my domain name? I'm using some shitty third party software right now, and it expires in 14 days. I don't feel like spending $70 USD on it either, lol.

Get a real webserver... I use Apache 1.3 for Windows on my server, works great http://24.182.188.171 Just moved to a dedicated server, trying to figure out how to get a DNS server setup so I can use my domain name, outrigged.com.

Nevermind, lol, did a search for eConsole on Yahoo, and found it.

Kickass desktop man. What program did you use to skin the Command Prompt? That just looks cool.

I installed some shitty screensaver, something called Matrix 2 v3 or something.. And it basically screw my desk.cpl file up.. Whenever I try to click the Screensavers tab in the display properties, it crashes.. I've replaced the entire file, no luck, anyone wanna help? -Elian

Windows 2000 Professional. I deleted every SCR file I have, no effect. I've also replaced the desk.cpl file from another copy of Windows 2000, no effect.

I just right clicked, went to properties, checked "Hidden", closed IE, and re-opened it. It's gone. Won't come back either -Elian

Is there anyway to get Windows 2000 to not debug every program that crashes? Debugging doesn't do me any good as far as I know, and I have no use for it. All it does is use up 30-60mb of RAM, and slow my computer down to a crawl. Anyone know how to shut it off? Thanks in advance, ~Elian

Since I don't feel like digging around on this subject, could anyone tell me how to turn off system file protection? I'm pretty sick of Windows replacing Notepad (Yes, Notepad, is that really nessicary to run a system?) whenever I try to put a copy of Metapad (Much better then Notepad) in instead.. Hmm, these files take up 200mb, that's not cool, considering I only have a 10GB drive. Does it matter if I just delete all the files in the folder? I don't really need SFP.. Thanks in advance ~~ Elian

I have to agree about Microsoft leaking builds on purpose.. If they really cared, they would find the loose ends (People that leak copies) and tie them up (Fire the person Microsofts "Official Policy", like any other company, says they do not condone piracy, but who knows? They could be leaking it just to let advanced people (Like most of us on this board) try it out, test it, and then post the bugs here.. Who knows, old Bill himself could be reading these posts. It's not like piracy can really hurt Microsoft, if it did, then they wouldn't be the multi-billion dollar corporation they are today. Has anyone gotten the start page to work? It looks like an interesting replacement for the desktop. I think Paul Thurrot has gotten it to work, so that means someone else should be able to get it to work.. I've found the HTML and JS of the Start Page in the WINNT\WEB\Startpage\ directory. I did that, but it's pretty much screwed up, and useless. If you do get it working, post how you did it. Although, we mise well wait for the first beta in October.. It should hit the ***** scene within 2-3weeks of beta 1, if it even takes that long. I'm trying to apply to test Whistler officially, but no luck there... Oh well.. ~Elian

Sadly, I've hit cancel tons of times... It just keeps on coming back. Thank fully, Whistler is stable enough, where restarts are few and far between. Sice I've gotten Whistler, September 19th, I've only restarted twice. My solution is just to leave the CD in the drive when I startup, its not that big of a deal. My only problem is, they should have a way to disable it. ~Elian
