BIG nasty problems with ASUS K7V !!!!!

First Problem Just installed the latest drivers for the asus geforce 6800 ddr graphics card !!! When it loads up it just goes to a blanc black screen and does nothing at all !!!! So i went in to the bios and changed it to agp x 2 and it f***** worked the next time i booted up !!!! But now i can't run it at agp x 4, this happens exactly the same when i install the latest Nvidia drivers as well !!!! Second Problem I can't get my pioneer dvd 10x 40x to run dvds without them jerking up all the time!! i have all the latest drivers installed, for my motherboard, graphics card and so on !!!! But the the main problem is that it don't like dma mode, when selected under windows me and 98se the drive just disapears !!!! so im running win 2k at the mo, to see if this made any difference's at all !!! and no it didn't !!! I have tryed many dvd software players and this hasn't fixed the problem at all !!! and bios upgrades !!! Has anybody else had these same promblems !!! Or does anybody Know how to fix them !!!! Add and remove programs HELP !!!!!!

can anyone help me, i have win 2k pro, and add and remove programs, won't open anymore !!
  4. Do not use the new nvida garphic card driver, it will not work, it will just give you a black blank screen, this happens both with win 2k and win me !!!!!! And to get your existing driver back on is a wright pain in the A** because you invoke last know good it merges both drivers, so when you click on prop and go to advance it shows both asus and nvida tools. i tried removeing the asus driver to see if, this would cure the problem, but it made it worse, so just remove the nvida driver, because the driver aint going to f****** work, its just took me 20 mins to get the orignal driver back on !!!!

    Memory Bumps

well i think i have the answer to your problem !!!!!!!!! The main reason for getting these memory dumps is due to your graphics card, and by any chance is it an nvida card !!!!! Well to solve this problem, you need to download the latest agp driver for your motherboard,Which could cure the problem, but the most important thing if you have an nvida graphics card, don't use there driver, use the manufactures driver who made the card, and make sure it is the latest !!! And also put the latest motherboard bios on !!!!! This should cure the problem !

    Direct X8

I have just got the latest version of direct x8 (build no 4.08.00.0085), but it does not work on win 2k, is there two versions???? Any body got any hints where to get the final from ? [This message has been edited by MR whistler (edited 12 July 2000).]
  8. yeh i had the same problem as you, but try increseing the voltage to your graphics cards,(3.5) This may help , but for some reason these boards don't like geforce graphics cards or its the agp port, i must admit it is the best board for overclocking, but if you want a stable board i would go for a asus k7v and that seemed to sort the problem for me. oh just one last thing the abit ka7 is very chosey on which ram is used, so that may be the cause. so try setting your ram to run at 100mhz instead of 133mhz if you running pc133 ! i hope this helps you !

    ATI RADEON 256/ Matrox G800

i thought i would post a message about the new ati radeon 256 seems thats it going to kill the geforce 2, and ati also have a dual version comming out which means that the Radeon will effectively have a fill-rate of 3 GigaTexels and transform up to 60 million triangles per second. is that quick or what all so i have just recieved some info on that Ati are going to release an even quicker card next year.(january 2001) so where is nvidia now? Also the next generation of cards are going to use 5ns ram which will get rid of the bottle neck between the GPU and ram, and torwards the end of 2001 they will have a total of 256meg on board where does it stop Thats more than most people have system ram ! well your going to guess matrox have been keep there selfs quite, they are launching there g450 soon which won't be a power puncher of a graphics card, compared to the likes of voodoo 6000, but this is just to tie them over, while they prepare there monster called the G800, i don't have tech specs yet, but it is going to blow the front running contender away, thats if they release it in time!. As you can gather were does that leave 3dfx and nvida ? I hoped you enjoyed this little bit of news !

    ATI RADEON 256/ Matrox G800

First of all i have tried an ati card once, which i only had for 2 days, and im not an Ati lover either, i currentley own an nvida card myself, But i have info from a insider that Ati want to get into the front end of the gamers market since they are biggest graphic card manufacture in the world. And just don't forget about matrox, they were first graphic card company to bring out a 64 bit graphics card, if any body going to shake the market its going to be matrox ! Just one final thing i read a review about a 9 months ago on nvida geforce 1 which was spose to come out in 32meg, 64meg and 128meg versions but did it no, and finally i can't believe nvida had to bring another 32meg version geforce 2, so time will tell, who wins the day, i agree nvida can deliver goods.
