belarc advisor outputs a file in html but it needs to be installed on the pc once it installs it automaticly creates the file and opens IE which can then be saved and emailed. it shows all programs installed as well as hot fixes, PID numbers, all hardware and printers and network shares oh and its FREE http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html hope this helps

sorry mate in my older years this seems to elude me , everywhere i have posted it seems you all give the same solution but i still dont get it sorry.. I can build a pc , networks a complete office, run DC and AD but this is sooo beyond me ... Would you be so kind as to put me out of my misery... the answer and how you got there would be fantastic. like i said before its not for any school project i am 34 and someone put this to a lot of us and for me its too hard ... we never did naything like this in my schooling in the UK ... As far as i know there isnt a way to do it with office XP correct me if i am wrong as MS took out the microsoft mail client part of it. if it still contains it then you need to setup a MS postoffice which MS took out of Win2K also but can be added back by extracting 2 files from the NT4 CD to one of the win2k boxes. i can direct you in this proceedure but i need to check if outlook XP has the connect to MS mail... other than that i believe ACT 2000 can do the same Regards Allanv

does the band appear to be moving and look like the contents of what was on your computer at the time thins happened? (like a rolling desktop?) if so i would say you monitors refresh rate or screen size is to blame on some cheop old computers i have gone to set the screen size up to 800x600 and i loose all on screen exept for a big band rolling down the screen to give pc a bigger better monitor and check the settings lower the refresh rate done close down windowz and put old monitor back see what happens

with my cable modem i want to share the connection with another pc, i have 2 nic cards in the one wif cable modem and 1 nic in the client. i have tryed different proxy server software but not everything works, and ICS is crap and same not everything works. i then when to the configuration page of my cable modem (for those with surfboard modems the address is 192.168.100.1) and found this below. right how the hell do i make this work?? the 2 machines concerned are running windows trojan, ooops virus - i mean ME. do i setup client with the address pool 192.?.?.? this bit i understand oh subnet should be 255.255.0.0 right then how do it ip route from nic1 to nic2 cable modem and resolve names... or am i barking up the wrong tree?? hey this could help a load more people if we can solve the mystery....... u need outlook 2000 for this; and have the disk for office 2000 handy as well, but first you need to set up a post office on yer network. when this is done open outlook and find the folders you want to share with the other pc's right click and say SHARE this folder, "it might ask you to insert cd at this time" then it will ask you "who with" and up pops a box with the post office contacts init, then it will ask you what mode you want to share "say author mode" this will allow you to send updates of the folders to each machine that you share with "EG if you use a contact list in outlook and on pc1 you add a contact then pc2 will recieve that contact in 10 mins" this time can be reduces of course or forced by both machines pressing F5. one you have sent the share request the other pc you sent it to must accept the request for it to work, now if the second pc isnt on at this time dont worry it will get the request next time it boots up for all this requires you to be using MS mail as an internal mail system and any machine running win95 and above can achieve this. this removes the need for MS exchange server and will work on as many machines you have on the network MS mail is in the control panel maked mail add MS mail/ /exit then back to contol panel administer a post office and setup the users hey presto MS gets less money.. if you need more help then email me or icq 14159453 i have this in word docs i can send you hope tyhis is what you want it works for me and my company....i can share calander / contacts / any folder i choose Allanv

hiya everyone, on a w2k system i want to install a burner and only my profile to use it and no one else if they log in to my workstation (security reasons) I have deleted the start menu and program menu short cuts from all users and just put a shortcut in my profile and set neros folder to hidden and this seems to do the trick but i was wondering if this was the best solution ??? let me know and didnt anyone know the answer to my last post regarding my pc shutting down if i try to encode a vcd from an avi ?? ah well thanks any hows

I had similar problems with things well anything related to 3d screensavers, games anything crashing back to destop some would start and some would just kick me to desktop and here is what i found... i use a kewl email proggy called incredimail and if thats running in the task bar then NO games work so i just shut it down before hand and everthing is great.... it used 3d for some of its animations and flash, dont know if this helps of if you are using this email proggy

I am trying to convert an AVI file to VCD file to play on my home DVD player but as i try to convert it using NERO, and loads of other programs about 15 - 20 mins into converting my monitor shuts down then there is loads of disk activity but nothing happening and i have to turn off the machine and back again to get it to work this same problem happens when i use any converting program Any ideas good people? This is driving me crazy

ok guys here goes:- When i was studying for my MCP i was given by microsoft press a 120 day evaluation copy of NT4 installed it at work everything working ok --- Now my boss wants me to put 2000 adv server on to this machine but someone told me that i would have to format this machine to run 2000 but i want to use the upgrade facility and not loose all the info -- but if i upgrade which it will allow me to do and overwrite NT4 will this get rid of the 120 day protection ??? There aint no way i can realy format this machine ...... please help me !!!!!

ok here you go.. setup outlook on the server with a post office for internal mail, then setup the folders containing the contacts. then highlight the folder and select file share and share this folder up will come a box (or it will ask you to install sharing so have the CD ready) and it will ask you who you want to share the folder with ! it looks for the MS mail post office (email me if u want help to set this up) just add the names of the people you want to have the contact list then select permissions (i use editor as anyone who can read the contact list can add to it and delete edit ETC and any updates that anyone has done will be sent out to anyone that you have selected to share the folder) so i dont have to administer the contact list i just let then get on with it and all the updates come out every 10 mins or if you press f5 to send or rec mail (this is all done through internal mail) works for me and meant that i didnt have to part with money for exchange server..let me know how you get on or icq 14159453 or email me if you need more info

I had a cable modem installed and on the weekend i felt like a game of UT..... I loaded the game and then updated the server list, found a server that looked easy (i am rubbish at games) but everytime i tried to connect to a server it said Connection failed and that was it any ideas?? well its the 3rd psu i have had but its from the same place 3 times i have ordered a amd rated one as i think the problem lies with the psu as you say... the psu is 250 watt max output 300watt but i think it is not switching to the max power before the CPU and so the CPU says oppps no power i'm off so yes i think its a bad make of psu.... but hey thank you for replying so soon and a merry xmas to you all
