I had that problem originally with my BP6 motherboard, Then I moved my hard drive cable off the ata66 slot and windows installed and still runs great.

All I know is Norton made my system do some really weird stuff and then when I tried to uninstall it it gave me errors. As soon as I got all norton files off my computer everything works great. my specs are almost identical

I have gotten the game to load up just fine and it plays, but sometimes it crashes when loading or exiting a race. It seems very random but always crashes at the same place. Has anyone else experienced this. TNT2 ultra,BP6,256meg,dual celeron 525, win2000
