    %windir% versus %systemroot%

%windir% is the Windows directory (I.E: C:\windows) and %systemroot% is the HD root dir (c:\)

Which is fastest, NTFS or FAT32?

I have a 10GB(well more lke 9.5GB) and I have a 6GB an a 3GB partition, i formatted c :(the 6gb) and installed win2k, w/NTFS when I did so, i had unbearably delays when doing file management operations, I.E. the right click menu took about 1min to come up, when loading a folder with many files, it would take a long time(almost 2x as long as it would on drive D: a fat32 drive). i got so tired of it, and i couldnt remedy it, that i finally reformatted as Fat32 and installed win98 an win2k, dualbooting between them.

    W2k shutdown doesn't power down

hrmm must be some configuration problem in your guys' comp if IRQ9 is being used by all devices...... IRQ9 is only used by the "Intel 8237-1AB/EB PCi to USB Universal Host Controller" my vidcard, soundcard and modem are on 11, 11, and 10, respectivly. my comp doesnt have APM, ACPI, or any of that powermanagement BS. Win98 Shutdown turns off the comp. Win2k doesnt. Big woop, who turns off a comp anyway? mines up 24/7, except when im installing new hardware

have you tried deleteing or renaming the file "gimmie.dll" in the NFS:PU root dir? some ppl have reported that doing so fixes the "requires more virtual mem" bug

Some of these problems makes me wonder!!

heh it all depends on what rip you downloaded. Class or Myth? the Myth rip is beta and thusly it effs up. the Class rip works perfect, flawlessly even, in win98, but i do believe its my vid card drivers now that are my problem
  9. ack! forgot somet stuff that might be needed to help me System: Celery366 128MB PC-100 RAM Intel i440LX/EX mobo(non flashable) Stealth III S540 PCI(latest Diamond Win2k drivers[8.30.20 i think], v212C BIOS) Yamaha YMF724(or something)anything else needed?
  10. nope messing with the gimmie.dll didnt work for me im using the Class release(ive heard the Myth release is beta), and I get the following error box, right before the main loading screen Error: execution may continue. DX7 Error Code: DDERR_GENERIC (80004005) FILE \3rash\dx7\dx7dev.c, LINE 386 [FILE=(null), LINE=0] gotten this error since installing the game. im wondering if its because I installed DX7 off Unreal Tournaments CD. Anyway to get the original Win2k DX7 back?
