Well after plugging away at Exchange I got almost all of it to work except OWA. I can bring up OWA with Netscape with no problems, yet with IE it is stuck on loading inbox and can not display folders. I read that it might have to do with WebDAV, yet I forced the server to believe that IE was version 4.0 and prior to keep WebDav out of the picture? What am I missing?

Does anyone have a copy of SSH Sentinel 1.3.2.2 that I could download or get a link to download it. The new version from SSH doesn't work well with the Linksys router I have, plus it is only a 60 day trial. Thanks, -Damon

I have a Windows 2000 domain up and running and wish to add a Windows 2003 server but only as a member server. My question is will that Win2k3 server try to take over master browsing functionality over my Win2k server? I had heard rumors that it does, but not sure if it does when the Win2k3 server is just a member server. Thanks for any help!

I have tried countless fixes to correct this issue. I have disabled items in group policies, edited the host file, made sure of DFS being enabled, checked on WMI services... the list goes on. Every 5 minutes exactly I get this these errors on my Server after I upgraded today from Windows 2000 to 2003. Had no such errors in Windows 2000 Server nor on any of my clients that run Windows XP. Does anyone have any other clues to correct these reoccuring errors in app log?

SYSVOL share is coming up fine. I have tried to correct the errors on my clients with the links given, yet I continue to get them. No idea on what to do next on that.

It is the only DC on the network. The link you provided is for Windows XP computers. I am currently having those issues on Windows XP clients. But at least they log the error only once when I log in. The Win2k3 server logs the two errors every 5 minutes on the dot. What can I do to make sure it is authenicating properly before the services start? These errors never occurred on Windows 2000 Server.

Upgraded from Windows 2000 Server running SP4

We are planning on upgrading our Windows 2000 Server that has Exchange 2000 loaded on it to Small Business Server 2003 Premium that comes loaded with Exchange 2003. Will there be any issues with this upgrade on both the OS and Exchange? Or will I be forced to do a fresh install? What would be the best method for me to backup the Exchange 2k database so that I can place it in the 2003 version? Thanks in advance!

Within the last week my Exchange2k server has been slammed with Swen viruses. I have Symantec Antivirus with Exchange protection on there, but my inbox is still getting full of virus warnings that have been blocked. I keep getting emails about a new update from Microsoft or an Admin sending me an email titled Advice. Also is a pack of failure notices from sites I never sent to. I checked all PC's on my network and none have the virus on them. Also ran the removal tool from Symantec and it said clean. What can I do to stop this from flooding my exchange and my inbox? Any help would be greatly appreciated! -D

I recently reformatted and reinstalled my Windows 2000 Server. When I am trying to configure the server in the opening screen, to tell it, that it is the only server. It tells me that another one is within the network. That is incorrect. What can I do to correct this issue?

My company has remote sites that are now needing a hardware firewall to prevent access to users. It needs to be simple an inexpensive. All we basically need is a one port firewall that does NAT. Any suggestions?

Nope didn't remember to back up metadata so unless I find some details on how to manually set this up, I'm going to have to give up on Exchange. Its certainly been one of the most frustrating Microsoft packages I've worked with.

I ran the IIS lockdown and followed the link you gave. It deleted all my OWA settings under IIS and I have no clue how to reset those back up. How do I manually add the right virtual folders and files for it to work right?

I having been working with this VPN set up for far too long. I have a series of routers set up in my apartment. My gateway for the Roadrunner connection is the BEFSX41 because it is a simplied firewall. That router connects to the BEFVP41 which I want the VPN clients to connect to. I can't seem to get it to work with with the BEFVP41. Do I have to forward a certain port from the BEFSX41 to the BEFVP41 in order for the BEFVP41 to connect the tunnels? I am using SSH Sentinel version 1.3.2 as the client. Thanks!

Is that port 500 protocol 1701 or not?

Yes I do have URL scan and IIS lockdown installed. How do I correct them from blocking OWA? That might just be the issue. I would really not like uninstalling IIS on the exchange computer because it is also my webserver that I have 4 websites hosted on. Pain in the butt to have to reset them up in IIS again also.

I believe I am using IPSec. Not PPTP since this is not a Microsoft VPN connection.

Exchange SP3 Using IE6 SP1 as browser On Windows 2000 Pro or XP Pro clients I've tried all the below steps for Internet Tools and didn't seem to help. I set the reg fix to make my server think my IE is version 4 or below to keep WebDav out of the picture, and I've tried SSL which should secure and hide the packets. I have no proxy server set up, my firewall / router is a linksys befsx41 I've checked all event logs and nothing is listed pertaining to my OWA issues. I've tried just about everything I've read and still am not getting anywhere. How do I set up an ISAPI filter and where do I do that at? I'm posted this issue in many forums and right now you are my only hope so far. Thanks!

Needs to be a router-type firewall for a cable connection.

I work for a company on active directory. We need to get some of the clients up to date with service pack 3 for Windows 2000. It will be a royal pain to go around to 20 computers and install the sp3 and the other windows updates. Is there a easy and "simple" way to deploy these over the network and not disrupt the users too much? Thanks, -Damon

I can not to save my life find the Sentinel version 1.3.1 VPN client. This is the version before they decided not to have a free non-commercial use. I need for a personal VPN test subject for school. Does anyone have any clue where I can get this. SSH only has version 1.4 available on their site and it is for 30 days use only. Thanks!

One of the companies I work for requires Ghosting of computers so that we can keep them all the same. The PC's are different in hardware. I have used SysPrep to remove the hardware layer, yet when I use Ghost 2002 and create the image, upon restarting a different pc with the image placed on I get the following error: Inaccessible_boot_disk. I have read symantec's help and they state options that do not work for me with personal edition. I am wondering will it even work to have different hard drives sizes with personal or do I need to switch to Enterprise. Please help! Update: Enterprise gave same error? I am lost.

I just moved one of my desktops over to log into my active directory. My account has Domain Administrator rights, yet when I log onto my desktop running Windows XP... I am getting access denied on some of the administrator functions on the local machine. How do I get my Admins rights back on my desktop?
