i think you must edit the the q3config.cfg in the baseq3 dir (if the cfg look weird -> start edit from a dos box). In my config is the following value: seta r_flares "0" I hope it helps you

disable 3d sound (+5 fps) and copy these dll's into the q3 dir: http://www.sdonline.cn.net/~dadong2/myit/download/quake3/tools/game-dlls.zip (+5fps PII) have phun
