  1. Hi all, I've just installed Windows XP and am very pleased with it. Only problem i have is that in Explorer, it views .zip files as folders. Which i dont want. Any idea how to turn that off? I've already installed Winzip, but that just changed the icon of the .zip files. Not the way it is shown in Explorer. Thank you for your help. Loc

  4. Does anyone know where i can find these? Win2k adv. server didn't recognise the card and i haven't been able to get hold of any drivers, not from diamond or nvidia. So any help would be appreciated, seeing as 640 x 480 in 16 colours is very annoying ;P Thnx loc

    New MS Compatibility patch....

CHAOSMAN: That post may help the 3Dfx people, but there are also a lot of people who use NVidia or summin else, which that patch can't solve unfortunately. I hope MS has noticed all the bad mouthing it gets over this new update and gets this patch patched QUICKLY!! --Loc

    New MS Compatibility patch....

I was overjoyed reading about MS releasing a new comptibility patch with added game support. So i immediately installed it. After install i try firing up Half-Life and i get the msg "HL can only be run in 16 bit colour mode, change your desktop accordingly". Well i always run my desktop in 32 bit mode and i NEVER got that error with HL before (this patch). HL will work when i change my desktop to 16 bit, but to be honest i like my 32 bit. My question therefore is how can i get HL to work without having me to change my desktop each time i want to play HL? (can i instruct windows to auto change to 16 bit or summin, as apparently it did in the past) Thnx --Loc

And i forgot to add that the other 2 pcs DO have a good working connection, so its some setting on my pc which is causing the problem.

    LAN not working correctly

Hi all, ive got a bit of a problem. My pc (win2k) is hooked onto a LAN with 2 other pc's (one Win2k and one win98). Thing is, my LAN performance is like 1/8-th it was in the past. We run a 10Mbit LAN but i only get 100K/s to and from the other pc's. I cant find out what the problem is, we are all on the same workgroup and if i do a search for computers near me i can find then no problem, theres just the speed problem. Anyone have any ideas?
