    W2K installation problems....

I would try to format the drive with a 98 boot disk, use the /s to make it bootable, and copy the i386 directory from the Win2K cd. Run setup from the hard drive and it won't need those boot disks. This should take care of that. I use a bootable Win2K CD which works great so I havent run into this problem.

    cdrwin 3.8a and windows 2000

I had some problems after installing the aspi driver. For instance I use DiscJuggler alot, and after running that, creating an image, then exiting out of the software my CDRom was no longer accessable. I get errors trying to access it and eventually I have to reboot then the problem is gone. (Until I run it again!)

    LAN games in win2k

IPX/SPX games crashing? Make sure you have the same frame type selected on both the 98 and Win2K machines. Usually Win98 will set the frame type to auto, and not always connect correctly to a WinNT machine. I don't know how Win2K handles this, but back in the day I used to force my Win98 and NT machines to a frame type of 802.3 which is the best performant and compatible. This may help. Check Win2K also for a frame type. ------------------

    Whats with DX7 & Win2K?

Thanks for the info, I understand that DX7a is on here, but its just sad that Lucas built this crap to look for DX6. What did they think DX6 would not update? Or why didnt Microsoft think ahead and use the same DLL's filenames or something so it would be more compatible? Argh. The problem I have with the Lucas games is it won't let me run the configure to even select D3D as an option, so if I run the game manually it goes into the software renderer automatically. Lame...

    Whats with DX7 & Win2K?

I was under the impression it was supposed to be a fully functional DX7. I have a Voodoo3-3000 AGP with the retail drivers. They show D3D is enabled in DXDIAG. But so many games that require DX6 do not work. Many of the LucasArts games do not work like Rogue Squadron, Shadows of the Empire, etc. They all give errors saying that DirectX is not working. Any info is appreciated. ------------------

    NVidia Performance?

Yeah I'm waiting for the ASUS-V3400TV card to have drivers. There are beta ones, but not only does the TV out not work in the beta ASUS drivers, but the D3D and OPENGL plain sucks as well. NVidia did a good job on their reference drivers...Too bad they couldnt write a driver with TV output.
