  1. This is very distressing to me. I want to host my own 24/7 FACE CTF UT server. When I put the server up as dedicated, it works initially. I join the game by running another copy of UT. Play for a while. And randomly, my LAN connection would just drop. The first indication is that every player drops off my server. I exit the game, going back to Win2k. But I find myself unable to access my LAN connection! I can't browse, check my email or do anything that needs my connection! It is as if the lan cable is pulled out of my ethernet card. The only way to fix my Lan connection is to reboot my computer. I don't know what is causing it, because I don't have any trouble with my lan connection with anything else. I imagine it must be Unreal Tournament thats causing the problem. Someone please give me some suggestions! Thanks Heifetz

Liveware 2000 beta for Win2k HERE

For those people that couldn't get these drivers to work, what kind of soundcard do you have? I have a 512 Voice, not a Live or Live Value. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Heifetz

Liveware 2000 beta for Win2k HERE

I don't think this works for me. I have the dell drivers installed...and tried to run the setup.exe from this release. THe wizard window comes up, and the progress bar goes to 100%, but then, nothing comes up. I checked it in the task manager, and there wasn't anything either. My soundcard still works though, so I think it didn't do anything. I'm running 512v, do you think that matter? That it is not a live or live value, (actually really a live value without the spdif out). Heifetz
  4. I don't know if it is windows update in my case. Because I think it give me BSODs before I updated win2k with all these new patches. But I do remeber installing the security patch a while back, but I'm not sure if I used nero before or after that. BUT, older version of Nero still work. I have a old version of Nero lying around (4.035) and it runs. So I think we should try older version of Nero (preferably not as old as 4.035) and see if it works. Anyone know where I could get older versions of Nero? Heifetz
  5. Wtf...I've been running Nero for a long time now without any problems, except a few coasters. But now, when I try to run nero, I get BSOD!!! And this is on Win2k final! I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, uninstalled it and reinstalled it again. But I still get BSOD when I try to use it! What is wrong? My options of burner software is limited...esp because I have a Teac 56s, which only a few softwares support. Heifetz

    Creative SB Live! FAQ

"Seldzar: I have one thing to say, lets see you write the drivers ok? When your capable of writing better drivers then complain, other wise be quiet and patient." what kind of childish ignorant rant is this? How realistic is it for someone to make drivers for a product for themselves? We bought these hardware (SB live) and we expect support. We don't just want to sitback and wait for month for drivers to come. And when a new, important OS comes out, we expect it to be supported. Its pretty pathetic how a big company like SB doesn't have drivers ready for their flagship product, and when they do come out, is substandard. Now, what you said is totally ignorant of reality. So we can't complain about products unless we could make better ones? Its like someone saying "Don't complain about Win2k unless you know how to make a better os." or "don't complaine about ur crappy american car...go and build ur own car". I'll take it into consideration that anything you complain about in the future...I'll add to it by saying "you shouldn't complain unless you know how to make it better". Heifetz

  8. The problem I have with win2k final is that randomly, after a long interval of time, maybe 2-3 days of the computer running, my screen gets GARBLED completely. Rainbow colors fill the screen! This is after I installed the beta win2k v3 drivers. I've never had any problem like this before. My machine is not locked however when the screen garbles. But I cannot do anything, as I cannot see anything! The only thing I could do is do a soft-reboot by using the window key! I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the same situation using these beta v3 drivers. I want to find out what is causing this problem. Thank you.

UT crashes Win2k when it exits!

Hey, guess I'm lucky, because with the new v3 beta drivers from 3dfx, unreal exits without crashing now!!! I'm hoping that a few other games will work now as the resultt of these cool drivers. Heifetz

UT crashes Win2k when it exits!

I just installed UT, upgraded it to 405, and also installed the V3 drivers from Chameleon's site. Everything works ok, except, when I exit from UT using the menu option, it TOTALLY crashes Win2k. Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't even respond, so I have to do a manual reset. I have found a way around it however, by minimizing the game, and closing it by right clicking and choosing close, but this is very annoying. I don't understand why it crashes win2k when it exits. I think I've read similiar problems for others here. Please post your experiences and maybe how you solved them! Heifetz
