Diablo II Beta on Windows 2000

The beta signup specifically said that the beta will NOT work under Win2k. The final version on the other hand should.
  2. Not 100% sure, but I THINK this could be CPU heat problem. The last time something like this happened, my CPU fan had stopped. Your overclocked CPU probably isn't being cooled enough by the fans.

Any *working* firewalls for Win2k yet??

The main nice feature of ZoneAlarm is how user friendly it is. Due to a hacker on my parents PC, I was forced to install a firewall on their computer. Normally, this would be a daunting task for people who have difficulty installing software when all that is required is to keep hitting "Next". It's amazing that it can be so useful, yet my parents can still manage to use it without having to phone for help every 10 seconds. It may not be the best firewall, but it is certainly the easiest to setup and use. [This message has been edited by DFB (edited 09 March 2000).]

    flash 4

You can goto http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/trial/ and download the flash demo. I think as part of the install it installs the plug-in. Hopefully this may help.

That Pinball Game that Comes with NT/W2K

Goto /Program Files/, there is a folder named something like WinNT or something like that... I just copied the folder applicable to the pinball game, and its running fine on a second PC running just Win98.

    LAN games in win2k

Nit pick all you want, he still says "don't ever use IPX" right after acknowledging that not all games support TCP.

    LAN games in win2k

Not to insult you EddiE314, but how can you say Quote: ...or IPX is the only thing supported under a certain game, don't ever use IPX, use TCP/IP. in one breath? If a game doesn't support TCP then it would certainly be a feat to get it running over TCP/IP. [This message has been edited by DFB (edited 20 February 2000).]

    One CPU or Two ?

Yes it is.. Theres a console setting that you have to set before it works, but SMP is supported. I'm sorry, but since I don't own Q3, I don't know the actual command though.

    Dual boot help needed plz

Unfortunately, Win9x doesn't like not being on the first partition. To dual boot, install win98 to c:, then when finished, install win2k (to where ever you wish) and when that is completed, next reboot you should have the option of which OS to use.

Winamp and Win2k Final Volume problem

I seem to remember it doing this to me under Win98 also. If there is a work around, I'd be very happy to learn of it.
