I have an occasional problem when verifying files after burning a data cd. It fails. My question is this, is there recommended settings over the defaults that I should be using in Nero when burning data files?

With my WindowsXP, I seem to have a bad habit of doing it at least once a month. Need to break that habit, because it is a constant headache. Just curious on how often users format and reinstall their OS's.

What is the background on this? Just started getting this on my WINXP Pro box. I have Detonator 30.30's installed, and just started getting this after I installed my new AthlonXP Processor.

I am no overclocking my XP2100+ CPU. MY GF3ti200 oc'ed with NVMax to 230 / 450 PCI Latency is at 32 PC133 Crucial Ram, at 2-2-2 in the bios (always has been set at this)

Try to uninstall / reinstall drivers. If that doesnt work, take out the video card, and resit the card. Should solve the problem

What is the correct procedure to do this? Right now, I go into control panel, add/remove, uninstall them. Then I reboot, and windows detects vga then gf3 adapter. It installs its default nvidia drivers, then I just run the exe file for the new dets, and install. This correct?

I recently put WINME on my computer. I have 3 hd's and 6 partitions. Last night I put Ghost 2001 on, and imaged it under high compression. I got an image file that was 1.1gigs. Do I have any options on how I can get this size down, or back it up to cdrw, without having to reinstall/format? I know I can only hold around 650 megs on a cd, and this image file is double that. I don't know what to do, or what the easiest solution is. Please help

Been using Outlook 6 (xp) and looking at switching to something different. Dont like the secuirty hazards and the resource hog that Outlook is. What are other Window Xp users using/prefer?

Says the file is corrupt/unreadable. I tried in dos, using NTFS Pro bootdisk, said access denied. I can not rename the file, I cant move it, I just want to delete it. No clue why it wont let me. Any suggestions? I've tried in safe mode, command prompt, no avail.

Event log solution did not work. Where do I deny system when right clicking on the file? What will that do?

I am pretty sure I tried to delete them before that way, and it didn't work. Still got a file corrupt/unreadable. This must be a bug or something in windows xp. I should be able to delete any file on my system. <yawn>

I see this file in the command prompt, windows explorer. The reason it bothers me, everytime I start my computer, i get a word bubble saying there are files waiting to be written to cd, and this is the only file. I want to get rid of it and the message.

This happened to me today, the scan said complete and the machine hung I rebooted, selected last known good config, and now it works fine.

Anyone else have this problem? Since the 28.80's were put on, my screensaver never turns on anymore

What are the basic initial tweaks that you all recommend for Windows Xp? Just formated, reinstalled it, and curious what the initial tweaks are that I should perform to optimize it.
