    Voodoo3 refresh rates

Entech, the same company that programs Powerstrip has a program called multires. It works just like quickres and adds the ability to change refresh rates. Very nice little utility.

    Final Version?

The official retail version is 2195.3 but you won't find it labeled like that. There is no way to determine if you have 2195 (RTM), 3195.2 (the MSDN version) or 2195.3 (final retail). [This message has been edited by KingGremlin (edited 05 February 2000).]

    HELP WITH DUAL BOOT

You don't want to edit the boot.ini file, that is not the problem. What you want to edit is msdos.sys, which is in the root directory of the C drive. Once you open it, it will be quite obvious what you have to edit.

modem doesn't work in the net dial-up

Change the modem driver to a generic modem. I have a US Robotics modem that was detected correctly and passed all diagnostics, but then couldn't dial in. I changed it to a generic modem, and everything works fine now.

    Win2k/Win98 networking

First, you have to actually share the drive like you do in win98. The default shares do not work (with the $ signs in them), you have to create a new share. After that, go to the Users & Passwords in the control panel. Check the user must enter password and name box. This will allow you to add users. Click add user. For username enter the name of the computer on the network that you want to allow access, the other 2 fields can be left blank, then just follow the prompts for the rest of the stuff.
