    CueClub problems

I originally was able to get CueClub working on my computer when it first came out. Now when I go to run it, even after a fresh install, it does the same thing, it just flashes a black screen for a fraction of a second and then goes back to the desktop. I don't know what's changed, if anything. It works in WindowsME and used to in 2k. I have AMD K6-2 450 mhz 192 megs RAM 27 gig maxtor HDD 2 NIC's S3 Savage 4 w/ 32 megs SB Live! Value
  2. I recently aquired a SyQuest SparQ 1.0 gigabyte removable drive. When I installed it into my machine, all went well. When I installed it into my operating systems, WindowsME and Windows2000 Professional, all was well. When I use it in Windows2000 however, I will put a disk in, use it, and then when I try to change disks, a few things happen: 1. the drive will not eject using just the eject button on the drive, 2. when I eject it using the right click over the drive, and reinsert a new disk, and click on it, the dir shows up, but is corrupted, and the free space isnt changed 3. it errors telling me to run chkdsk, which I do, and get hundreds of errors, destroying files. Anyone have any ideas?

    Sparq IDE drives and Windows2000

Well, in WinME it works flawlessly, no problems what so ever. In Win2k, I installed SP1 after posting the topic, the problem seems to have calmed down, however it still may exist as of yet. I emailed the people and we'll see if they respond to me yet.

    Falcon 4.0 anyone?

Anyone found a way to make Falcon 4.0 work without a GLide compatible card (ie. Voodoo)? Perhaps somehow a method via a GLide Emulator or something? It sucks rebooting to 98 just to play a game.

    Falcon 4.0 and Win2k

I'm able to run it for one mission, whatever it may be, and after the mission ends, I get the stand by screen, and it then exits to desktop and leaves an error message. I have a Diamond Stealth III w/ a S3 Savage 4 32 megs and a K6-2 450 w/ 192 megs. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Ensoniq ES1371 problems

I have an Ensoniq ES1371 sound card, and I am trying to enable the microphone for it, but am having no luck. Win2k installs the card as a 1370, and when I change it to 1371, it says its ok, but it doesn't make any sounds, and the CPU maxes out. Has anyone been able to get it to work, and if so, please tell me how! THX

    Ensoniq ES1371 problems

Nope, I haven't noticed that the number of posts haven't changed. I did try the drivers, and they didn't work, in fact, the only thing they did, was installed the disc detector and a different volume controller program. The OS apparently did not allow the drivers to be updated by the program, because I checked and they never changed.

    Ensoniq ES1371 problems

Alrighty, I'll look over the card once more, so you're saying I should try to use the PCI64 and PCI128 drivers as well as the others in attempt to get it working? I know the card is made by Ensoniq, but since Creative's recent aquisition of Ensoniq, Win2k doesn't realize the different makes and models of the cards as it should, this is what is causing the problems I believe, and Creative isn't doing jack to resolve the issues.

    Ensoniq ES1371 problems

Yep, it's a three section mic plug, and it works in a 98 machine right next to me. And the card is also a 1371, because I remember looking it over when I first installed Win2k. The page you showed, only has to do with Win98 and wouldn't deal with Win2k's problems. Anything else?

300MHz Min for software DVD is bull****

The K6-2/3 CPU's just can't decode fast enough for the video to remain in good quality. I myself got a Real Hollywood Plus card, and everything is good. But, I think the problem is the fact that the CPU has poor FPU and no cache on chip like the PII/III/K7 and most of the newer Celerons have. Those CPU's can also manage the memory they use far better as well.

    Internet Conenction Sharing (how-to + a Q.)

I have the same setup, except that I'm using a cable modem. I have enabled ICS and have told the other 2 computers to obtain automatically, and in IE I told it to automatically check for proxy settings. Though there is no proxy service installed, ICS acts like one. I have two PCI cards, not ISA, I found that ISA caused a similar problem to that of yours, put in a PCI and boom, it works. Good luck, and hope this helps!

    Ensoniq ES1371 problems

I tried installing the ES1371 drivers and the first time, they didn't work, no sound. The second time, they froze the machine while attempting to install. The time they just didn't make any sound, the device was reported as working fine. This sucks, I need the mic for other purposes and I don't want to go back to 98, mainly because I don't want to fix its sorry ass.

    USAF and Win2k

I have basically the same problem as with my other post, except that in this one, I can't get into the preferences at all, and I need to to change a few things around. I've updated with the newest patch from the makers, but no luck. Any other ideas for this would be great!

    Nero 5.0 doesn't work

I have installed Nero 5.0 over 4.0.9.1 and it does nothing but error out when run. 4.0.9.1 works perfectly, but Nero 5.0 does not start at all it errors before anything. Any ideas?

    AMD CPU's and Win2k

Everytime I check the CPU speed in any program, including MS System Info, they report it to be running at 266 or 226 mhz instead of what it really is running at, 450 mhz. Could this possibly be affecting the performance of the system or any of the applications I may run? Or is it just some screw up the MS geeks didn't bother fixing before releasing?

    AMD CPU's and Win2k

If disabling ACPI support is what it takes, then that means it's an OS problem, because all drivers are from M$ at the time.

    Networking in Win2k

I have Win2k Pro and have two NIC's installed, neither of which are sharing IRQs or anything. The one NIC is hooked to my cable modem and works perfect. The other NIC is plugged into a hub, and from the hub it goes to a laptop, and then to another machine. Both of the other machines run 98. The desktop 98 is able to share files and internet, and when turned on will make the Win2k machine show a connection. The laptop, does not, however the link light on the hub turns on. I've moved the laptop cable to all the ports on the hub and nothing works. The laptop sees and can share with the desktop 98 and vice versa. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    AMD CPU's and Win2k

The BIOS is flashed to its latest version provided by the manufacturer, and I've reinstalled so many times I've lost count. It really doesn't matter so long as I know the machine is working at its fastest speed and nothing is slowed because the OS "thinks" its slower.

    AMD CPU's and Win2k

As far as having the two on the same partition, are you nuts? They're seperate :)But I've already reinstalled and it still does no good. I have a Gigabyte GA-5AX mainboard

    AMD CPU's and Win2k

My CPU is a K6-2 450 , jumpered and running at 450 in 98 and from what the CMOS says. Everything in Win2k "sees" the CPU as the lower speed of 226 or 266 or in that area. I am running Win2k Pro final, with other than the CPU you already know about, 192 megs RAM, 27 gigs HDD, and an 8 meg vid card and other misc hardware
  22. Ok, here's the deal, when I had the previous version of Nero, I installed it, and when I rebooted, got the nerocdnt.sys error, so I just removed the file, rebooted and all went. I went to use the program, everything went perfect. When I went to use the CD, it wasn't readable at all, yet Nero said burn process completed successfully. I was pissed of course cause I lost the CD. Now, I have this version and I get the same thing, except this time I tell it like someone said to, and told 2k to revert back to known good, and it booted, I used the software, same as the previous version. Anyone know how to fix this problem? Or do I need that file to work?

Nero 4.0.8.3 Works, but doesn't work

It does it regardless, I have a AMD K6-2 450 mhz, 192 megs RAM, 27 gig HD, 8 meg SiS 6326 AGP, Soundblaster 64 PCI, Toshiba SD-M1302 DVDROM, Mitsumi 4802TE burner, and other various hardware with nothing to do with it.

    WinOnCD in Win2k

I have the most up to date ASPI drivers from adaptec 4.60 , and yet WinOnCD says it can't check the SCSI chain for a CDR drive. How can this be rectified?
