I was trying to run the Samsung with one gig of the old stick. It's a Samsung M470T5663QZ3 - CE6 I believe the model is an aspire 5520 - ICW50

Hi all, I am new to this forum. I just bought a Samsung stick of 2GB 2Rx8 PC2 - 5300S - 555 - 12 - E3 ram. Why won't this work in my Acer Aspire 5520? I currently have 2x 1GB 2Rx16 PC2 - 5300S - 555 - 12 - E3 installed from factory. Shouldn't the lower number (i.e. 2Rx8) be more compatible? Thanks in advance.
