I had this problem on a couple of computers. None of the posted problems worked for me. Finally, I stumbled across this web page and the WUFix.zip on this web page http://wiki.castlecops.com/Windows_Update_Fix and it fixed everything, including the blank Windows update page. I hope this works for everyone who has experienced this problem. I had done everything from my own searches to calling the IE Help line ( and even Windows XP help) and no one was able to fix this.
