I have experience similar problem to yours and i too had the intention of re-formatting my comp but decided against it. I just went to click ctrl+alt+del and searched under Task Manager then under File, click New Task, a search option will appear, next find C:, then Start Menu, All Programs, System Tools, followed by System Restore and you restore your computer to an earlier date, preferably a month earlier. Hope this will help.

I bought a Toshiba laptop (Singapore) for which I was given a TREK thumb drive free. When I plug in to my system,it says "power surged". What should I do now??

I have a situation here; whenever I connect to my Internet through my Alcatel Modem, my comp will automatically shutdown and restart by itself, and a blue screen will appear, stating that my modem have some part to do with it. My phone is connected at my parents' room and whenever the TV is switched on, my Internet and disconnect, and in worst cases, it will shut down and restart and the blue screen will appear. Please advice. Thank you.

Hey i have suffered the same problem with you before in the past, and I found out that it was actually a virus infection. You have to do download the Trojan Horse Windows Patch from Microsoft. Hope it will help.

There are no drivers which are compatible for Windows NT. There's only for Win98 and Win98SE
