    Obscure And video update

what type of computer was your old and new systems? (i.e. PC 100, 2100, 3200, etc.) If they are the same, get back to me on that. -----If you cant find out which model they are, then tell the specs on each. ---Also, where I'm going will only work if you still have your old system.

    Freespace 2 installation help

have you installed any previous programs on this system w/o any trouble? did you uninstall it on your old system? did you check for viruses from your old system?
  3. get the support team web address or hotline and ask them for support on a missing file on the disk (that sounds like the problem). I can't help you on a missing file from the disk (i don't own it).

Need help with command and conquer

i see. this seems to happen w/ olser games and/or games that are not original to that system. Your game is not reading your new system because it is still formatted to the previous computer(s). The only way that I can think of to fix this problem (because you said it reads your system incorrectly, as if it was a completely different system) is to uninstall the game on as many system as you can (systems that you installed it on), and then uninstall it on your new system and then reinstall it on the same system. This happened to me a lot when upgraded systems.

    Login Problem with WinXP....

try using system restore on your user name. If you have a dell, then you should have recieved a CD for system restore. If you do not have a CD, try booting it from the computer (should be installed already if no CD) or go to Microsoft under a user name w/ administrative powers and ask for a system restore. You might be able to get a CD from your manufacturers also (dell, HP, alienware, etc.). Alternately, (try this before system restore) try running your system in safe mode. If it works, hen make backups of your files, and then use system rstore.

four things: ---is this a pirated copy? ---what speed (8x, 16x, 24x, etc.) is your CD drive? ---how old is the drive? ---is this a replacement drive?

    Vice City

i dont know if thats a problem or not, but my version tends to do that too....meaning that some vehicles/bikes get quieter when they peak in speed. There are two things I can think of,...try setting your in-game sfx volume down a little. Also, try (if you have XBox, i dunno if this works on PS2) making sure that your selection of sound is supported on your TV (i.e. dolby surround, mono, stereo, etc.). Get back to me on that.

ok.. try going into your system manually and looking for any related files (some cannot be deleted thru remove programs and search). Also, make sure your security options do not still support Norton '04. Also, it looks like you recently restored your system. If worst comes to worst, just re-restore it. If the first suggestion doesn't work, lemme know

GTA3 problems in XP need help!

i can think of three things. Random access memory--make sure your memory sticks are installed and your RAM memory options are up to the max (512). You can select your options from the system options screen at the initial bootup. This will be under a directory as "Physical Memory", "Random access memory," "RAM," or just "memory." Video memory--under the same options screen, make sure your video or graphics memory is up to the max or second highest. Make sure you've installed the card first. Make sure your monitor cable is not in the integrated jack. Sound card--try reinstalling the sound card and make sure your audio plug is not in the integrated jack.

need help installing DK2 (yes, i searched)

make sure that your physical mamory (RAM) is installed and enabled. To install your RAM, simply let your system search for new components under the add/remove hardware option in the control panel. Also, to enable your RAM, go to the system options screen (the one that you are temporarily prompted to access at the initial boot of your system), and under a directory or subdirectory, you should see an option for either your physical memory or your Random Access Memory (RAM). To the side of this option, there should be a number (either 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, or 1024). If this number is not 1024 Mb, change it to this. Also, consider this message as talking about video memory. If you have no video card, that may be a problem. If you do, make sure that is installed and then make sure the memory option is up-to-date (make sure by accessing the same system options screen as the above options screen and then look for video or graphic memory). Most systems come standard with 8Mb or 16 Mb of Video Memory. Simply select your second highest or highest setting. If this doesn't work let me know.

need help with sim city 3000 please!

I own the game Sim City 3000 Unlimited. I know for a fact that it is campatible w/ win XP. However, when I initiate the final step in the installment process (actual installment step), the screen displays "Searching for Related Components" and then the setup becomes a non-responsive program, but the screen still displays the same message ("Searching for Related Components"). If anyone has any tips about this please tell me! ;(
