Therefore i did not make any changes The only differences was the "command.com" file which mine was a little backdated Created : Saturday, August 18, 2001, 8:00:00 PM Filesize : 4.94 KB

Well now after running the DOSX.EXE. It gives a long command of "Bad Commands or filename" and then hangs. I have tried replacing the DOSX.exe from the window CD but to no avail. Any other suggestion to help?

I have tried the support website which distinctly points the resolution to this URL http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;168925 But still it doesn't help....

I have copied the AUTOEXEC.NT from my Windows XP home to the system32 directory, but his time it gives a different error, System Error The Win16 Subsystem was unable to enter Protected Mode, DOSX.exe must be in your AUTOEXEC.NT and present in your PATH. what does that mean? I have checked that both the AUTOEXEC.NT and DOSX.EXE now are both present in system32 directory. I have even replaced the previous version of DOSX.EXE. what else can i do?

I have downloaded a copy of the above mentioned software but it cannot be installed. The filename acmboot.exe then executes with the following msg : 16 bit Windows Subsystem C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS=DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. followed by 2 options : CLOSE or IGNORE. but both this doesn't work at all. I am currently running on Microsoft XP Home. Is it that the possible reason for not able to install? As stated on the website it will install on Windows XP But I only read read this part after failure to install the program... 1. Microsoft Windows® 2000 Professional SP2, 2. Microsoft Windows 2000 Server SP2, 3. or Microsoft Windows XP Professional so is there no way that i could install the program unless i upgrade to Windows XP Pro edition or buying the Visual Studio 2003 package. Please advise me
