  1. I am running Fedore Core 3 and a SMC 2532 wireless adapter. It is working but the performance seems to varly greatly. The link quality is always very good but I've noticed that the tx-power is all over the place. wlan0 IEEE 802.11-b ESSID:"tsunami" Nickname:"tsunami" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.437GHz Access Point: xx:xx Bit Rate:11Mb/s Tx-Power:2944 dBm Retry min limit:8 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:off Link Quality=92/92 Signal level=-40 dBm Noise level=-91 Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 I tryed setting the power to max but it seems that that feature is not supported in this adapter. [root@b-laptop wlan]# /sbin/iwconfig wlan0 txpower auto Error for wireless request "Set Tx Power" (8B26) : SET failed on device wlan0 ; Function not implemented. Has anyone else seen this? Can anyone give me a hint on how to statically crontrol this card? Thanks Brian
