  1. I have just upgraded to: Asus K8V-X - with onboard sound disabled. A64 Radeon graphics win XP pro But kept an old PCI128 soundblaster sound card. Before I upgraded I was runing xp home on a P3 500. And the sound worked normally. Now the sound only works sometimes after turning the computer on. If I delete drivers in device manager and then restart the computer the sound will work when the drivers install automatically after restarting.

wintv and picture problems in xp

Just formatted drive and didn't fully backup ;(. I am now looking for the wintv 2k drives which also include the WINTV32 application (i.e. the program that has standard looking icons instead of the the new design.) Before formatting this is the only way I got the TV to work correctly and now I can't find the drivers. ;(

Strange Network problem on home LAN

This should be in the XP networking section.
  4. I'm currently have two computers connected through a hub using UTP cable with straight through wiring. When both computers are turned on the network doesn't work. But if I set PC 2 (PC 1 has a set IP address all the time) an IP address then run the 'setup a small home network' wizard the network will work fine. This forces the computer to 'obtain IP address automatically' but it always uses the IP address I orignally set. Then if one or both of the computers are restarted the network stops working. The above is the only way I have managed to get the network to work at all. Any ideas to whats happening work be great. thanxs. [Edited by trautwerd on 2004-09-22 15:38:12]
