    Unattend won't work!!!!!!!!

Here is mine now. It will access the floppy, but it continues right on to text mode. There is also a .txt file in I386, called SETUPACC which is a Accessable setup answer file, and the last line is: UnattendMode = GuiAttend. Is this whats throwing the wrench in the works? ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=No TargetPath=\WINDOWS [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword="123" EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=35 OemSkipWelcome=1 [userData] ProductKey=****-****-****-*****-***** FullName="joe" OrgName="Joes mule farm" ComputerName=Fred [TapiLocation] CountryCode=1 Dialing=Tone AreaCode=555 [identification] JoinWorkgroup=MSHOME [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes

    HElp reformat problems!!!

If you passworded you bios, your going to have to clear CMOS, either by jumper (make sure power is off, and unplugged), or by popping ou the battery.(same thing with the power off) for 10 seconds or so. Then reboot into the bios, and reset your clock in CMOS, then go to advanced cmos, or boot, depending on whether its an AMI or Award/Phoenix bios, and change it to boot from cdrom first. If you need to fdisk your partion, whether it be dos, ntfs, linux, or whatever, you can go to bootdisk.com, and download masterbooter, and everything else for $4. Lots of great tools there. copy mrbooter and efdisk onto a win9x bootdisk, and run efdisk, real simple, just follow the directions on screen. you can clear any partition, and reset it to whatever, so the XPdisk will format it for you. There is also programs at bootdisk.com called zap and wipe, which will right zero's to any drive, which will clean out any data that fdisk or format cant.
  3. *Banging head on keyboard* I have been trying, unsuccessfully to use unattended install for windows xp for 5 days of my spare time now, and have a dozen CD/RW's sitting here waiting to be erased. Out of the 2 copies of XP pro I own, one pre-sp1, the other xpprosp1, and cannot get it to work no matter what I edit, whether I'm trying to use it from a floppy or copied into I386, Whether I have it as unattend.txt, or winnt.sif, whether, i change the path in the batch file to reflect the answer file, or not use the batch file at all. I have read everything from this site, OC.com, and even my XP unleashed book, Notta! Both my copies are OEM's. Is this what is causing this? is there a workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. If your using 99% of your processes, you didn't by chance download and run any protein folding programs, such as folding@ home, did you? That will run your processor at 100% all the time. Its a great benifit to help out with cancer research, and other illnesses, but I would recomend instaliing it on an old box you don't use for everyday service.
