    Mandrake 10 Installation Problem

Unfortunately the problem is that Mandrake 10 (and i think the linux kernel 2.6 in general) doesn't support SATA devices. So while you have a nifty new hard drive, linux can't see it. You'll have to either get an IDE hard drive, or find a distro that supports SATA, if such a one exists.

Mandrake 10 beta 2 woes and fixes

I'm having the same mkinitrd problem with mandrake 10.0 official for amd64. I've tried disabling the RAID controllers to no avail. Any other suggestions?
