hi how do i set up my windows xp to connect to windows98 dialup server. my older98 os before i just dial the phone no. and i can access my work win98 computer. i'm using xp now pls help. thanx in advance.

thnx for your response, i have a very small bussiness screen printing w/ 2 employee. i have only one computer @ work so no admin. i set up dialup server in my office so i can access programs. i can access it @ home before when i have win 98 but i upgrade to xp pro. i set to dial @ work the problem right now is asking for user and password which it doesn't exist. i don't put user and password to win98. do i need to put username and password on 98 box? pls help

hi i was trying to use norton ghost to image (for backup) my os partition. i use win98 boot disk to go to true dos but it won't see ntfs partition. anybody who is ghost old timer pls help thanks

hp, compact sometime uses name brand motherboard like my old hp pavillion use asus motherboard. try to find what kind of chipset you have. example via, ali or sis. try google, there are several motherboard monitoring utilities out there. see if you can find that support your board.

duhmez your point is very bold i like it lol. forgive me for being stupid but in the bios primary drive and second are set to auto. so did it mean i set it to none? how do i do that. i got ghost 2000 does this thing works to see my ntfs if i boot to win98 bootdisk? pls explain thanks much.

thanks guys.....reason i want to use ghost coz i'm tired reloading my os. i am a extreme o'c enthusiast. things get corrupted sometimes. what about drive image? any good? i guess i will do dosfreak sugestion. anyway thanks again ps my friend offer me ghost 7.0 enterprise edition...i don't know where he got it but anybody know how to use it. is it the same as the regular ghost. my friend never use it.

sorry i only have ghost program that comes w/ software bundle when i bought a motherboard. the only file inside ghost folder is ghost.exe. the only intruction i have is.... copy the file from your hd and you should boot in true dos. thanks for your help

hi everybody help pls. i have this situation in windows server2003 ent.. eveytime i boot in this OS explorer exe is some what looking for something it seems like it just hang in there and my computer look like it freezed. my taskbar won't show up. press ctl+alt+del to re-start, it wait for explorer to shut down but if i put a cd (any kind) in re-writable drive and re-boot OS, it load fine and fast and taskbar shows up right away. it does't work in dvd drive if you put cd only in rewritable drive. anybody has explanation on this? thanx in advance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ep 8rda+ rev 1.1 barton 2500 @2.310mhz OS: win2k pro, win xp pro, win2003 hd: wd 2x120gig dvd rom&re-writable drive: lite on twinmos pc3200 2x256 winbond antec true power 430wtts sapphire radeon 9600 pro

i unplug the cdrw drive and it boots fine. how come it doesn't do this in xp and win2k. only this os, it sucks no i think hi val sucks. i don't want to buy a another one. anyway if any one has an idea to solve this pls response. thanks guys

yea i will try that i will let you know. this hi val cd writer spin so much when booting up with cd inside. the only thing i like with this it write fast and no error in my encoded movies. thanx see ya

no nothing. it only do this in this os the trial version i use 3 weeks ago does't do this. this full version does.

still doesn't get rid the windows version. i unchecked in power toy and tweak it to registry (paindesktop ver 0)nothing happens. anymore ideas?

hi to all i try to run 3dmark 2003 in win2k but the problem is giving me a warning message..it sez Hardware does not support stencil buffer 3dmark03 will not run properly..... i try to run the program it doesn't work.... in bench mark properties were you choose...everything in there sez not supported. i have a dual os...2k and xp it runs fine in xp. is there anyone knows my problem. thnx in advance. _____________________________________________________________ 8rda rev 1.0 - barton 2500 oc'd @ 2.1 gig radeon 900 series 128mb dx 90b installed

hi everybody i am kind of rookie about this networking stuff pls help. we have four computer @ home, my computer is connected directly to the internet through a hub that is connected to cable box w/ my own ip address. from that hub linksys router box is connected so they can access the internet and see each other in the network. now i put extra net card in my system so i can connect it to the router so i can join and see them. the problem was they can see me but i can't see them ;( . how do i fix this....i can ping them but thats all. thanx much -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- mainboard: ep 8rda+, xp 2500+ barton, win2k pro sp3

sorry i don't understand what you mean disable net bios to the netcard that browse the LAN? or the one that goes direct to cable modem? print and file sharing is disable (card that goes direct to cable modem) by the way thanx for being patient i appreciate it very much....i didn't go to school for this its only experience. i learn alot of this stuff for all the guys like you who are willing to help. i will post if it works thanx jim
