    win2k3 128mb memory limit

Yes that is the line that needs to be edited in the TXTSETUP.SIF file which is in the /i386 folder. So the install needs to obviously be run from the HD not the CD or edit the file and reburn the CD. The hard part is figuring out what the multiplier is to figure out the correcdt value to change that setting to. I have not had any success personally getting it to work setting it to 0.

    Nero or not?

I have also found burning slower solves a lot of issues. Try it at 4x max, instead of 16x.

    USB & NT 4.0

Quote: Upgrade. As for which upgrade? 2000 or XP? I cannot help you with that. For business use I say 2000...for home use I say 2000.. If your still runing NT4 it means that you want something that is proven and stable which Windows 2000 is and 2000 will be supported for some time to come. Still, try both out for yourself and see what you like but generally the consesus is that for work/home 2000 is the best. As an FYI, Win2k was going to loose support in 2003 but has been extended to 2004. So, it actually will not have support for that much longer.
  6. Thanks for the replies.... I tried it on 1 meg before you guys replied and it worked.
  7. I changed it to 0 and setup is still telling me that I do not have enough memory to install, but instead of it saying I need 64 megs it says I need 0.
  8. With Win98 and Me you could use /im as a command line switch to force it to install even if there was less ram than "required". Is there a similar switch for Win2k? BTW, if this is already out there I did try a search, but had no desire to filter through 9000 matches. Thanks

How to COMPLETLY remove AOL from a system???????

Oh, BTW, I have been provisding tech support for about 5 year now too. And if their unnstaller leaves anything at all on the computer it would be in /program files/common files But those files still would not affect the browser. Umm....do you work for MSN?

How to COMPLETLY remove AOL from a system???????

Then your customer's problem was with his browser, not with stray AOL components. If you install a version of AOL that needs a browser version higher than what is currently on the computer it will upgrade it (with the same thing you get from MS) and the horrific change that they make is that it now says "Provided by AOL" and the little icon is AOL's symbol, not the "MS Flag". Neither of those changes affect the browser in any way. So, again, if he was having a problem with the browser it was in deed a problem with the browser, not with the fact that he has now or had in the past the AOL software.

    Nvidia 40.72 & Games

I got the 41.03 betas and all the issues in the 40.xx series seem to have cleared up. I too was having the issue in Lord of the Rings and 41.03 fixed that without going backward in drivers.

    WMP9 error trying to stream

If I check the version of the wmplayer.exe file it says 2799, but Help says it is 2848. So, I don't know if maybe that is part of the problem. And, I can't just delete the directory and reinstall because Windows is caching the files somewhere. After I delete everything it recreates all the files in about 10 seconds.

    WMP9 error trying to stream

I don't know if this is a WMP 9 issue or SP1 or what. But, since I installed them I get an error every time I try to stream media using WMP. The error is: Visual C++ Program: C:/../../Windows Media Player/wmplayer.exe R6025 -pure virtual function call Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? Oh, BTW, for all of you wondering how to get rid of WMP9. You have to use the system restore feature to go back to a state prior to installing. As I have had it on the system for a few weeks now, I no longer have that option.
