    Z Board problems.

I've had a Zboard for about a year and haven't experienced your problem yet. However, I just wanted to say that their free online tech support is very helpful. I had problems with the multimedia keys not working and the support staff was in continued contact with me as we tried to find the cause of the issue. So if you haven't done so already, contact them at https://www.zboard.com/us/support/techsupport.asp

How do i get BF2 to work under win2000?

Don't know what to tell ya. I asked him just to confirm and he said the same thing, it just installed without a hitch. Try just running the Setup.exe from the disc.

How do i get BF2 to work under win2000?

It probably won't be of much help to you, but I just wanted to say that my brother has Windows 2000 and was able to install and play both the Battlefield 2 demo as well as the full game, without doing anything special. EA just didn't want to spend the extra money to have to officially support the limited number of 2000 users.

Not to promote another site, but you're far more likely to find a solution to your problem on the forums of http://www.TotalBF2.com

Need Desperate help with my Radeon 9600

I'm not an Intel guy, but if I'm not mistaken, the P4 will start to slow down on its own once it hits a certain temperature. If by "huge drop in quality after a certain time" you mean that it's slowing down, perhaps it's just your processor overheating. Just a thought

    Athlon XP vs Athlon 64

I had an AthlonXP running at 3200+ speeds and switched to an Athlon64 3000+ and found that the Athlon64 edged out the XP in most every benchmark. Everything in the system stayed the same, with the exception of the motherboard of course, and the RAM was running at about the same speed. I have all the benchmark results saved but I don't want to post them because I know that my testing methods aren't as scientific and reliable as any decent review website. One thing to note is that my Athlon64 runs a bit cooler than my old AthlonXP Barton. Running either idle or hot the A64 is between 10-20 degrees F cooler than the old AXP (and that's even without using the whole "Cool n Quiet" feature). I'd normally recommend the Athlon64 hands down for the extra few bucks but you can't beat free if you can score that AthlonXP. By the way, unlike Intel's recent numbering, I wouldn't consider the AMD speed designations to be any sort of gimmick, just a fair way to gauge performance (with perhaps a couple exceptions). If AMD labeled their products with only the clock speed, no normal person would know that they're comparable in performace.

    The Best Multi Player Game!

With a little something for everyone, the Battlefield series has to be my pick (especially with Battlefield 2 coming in a couple months. It's mindblowing if you haven't checked it out yet.. TotalBF2). Unreal Tournament 2004 would be my distant 2nd. Any version of Halo or CS tie for dead last.

Trillian vs. GAIM - What's better?

I too won't be much help because I've never used Gaim. But I just have to say that Trillian is one of the few programs I wouldn't be able to live without. I used 2.x forever but this new version is beautiful (and they managed to fix the few issues I've always had with it such as messages not sending and odd connection problems). Unfortunately I use it for everything except IRC but it's become my permanent replacement for AIM, ICQ, YahooIM, and MSN (because I have stubborn friends that only use their favorite messenger, so I need to use all of them). Nothing beats having 8 different messenger accounts sharing one buddy list. I'm forever hooked. Anyway, for anyone interested you can get it here http://www.trillian.cc/ All I can say is "Holy crap!"

if there was a Half-life movie

What you have sounds entertaining but the movie would have to be 40 minutes long in honor of Half-Life 2's pathetic gameplay time. (What a disappointment x))

Organizing a room with lots of computer parts

I recall Directron selling used antistatic bags (10 for $2, different sizes). http://store.yahoo.com/directron/bags.html For storage of small components in my own computer room I have about a dozen of these style plastic carts. http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=550984 You can find them for like $10-$20 each and they snap together to stand up to about 4-5 feet tall. I'm so obsessed with them. They cover a wall in my room and hold a good deal of my loose computer junk. **P.S. (As far as I know) I've had zero problems with static electricity after using these for about 4 years, even though they are plastic containers.

Athlon XP 2.6 on WinXP or MOBO Problem

There are 3 versions of the 2600+ AthlonXP. If this is your motherboard: http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detail_spec/product_detail.asp?model=KM4M-L all 3 versions are supported. Because this motherboard does not seem to allow you to change the multiplier setting and it's currently running at 1533 MHz, I am 99.99% certain you have the Barton version of this processor. The FSB on your motherboard (jumpers SW1 and SW2) should be set to 166MHz. Note: If you have PC2700 (DDR333) memory you should be all set. If you only have PC2100 (DDR266) memory, you need to go into the BIOS setup and make sure the "DRAM Clock" setting is set to either "By SPD" or "133MHz"
