Search as in right click on network and select "search for computer" The NT box is running SP5 because it is not my server, hence I have no control over SP level In any case I have sorted the problem now. I needed to reenable netbios over tcp for me to be able to see NT4.0 machines.

Hi. Anyone had any problems connecting a XP prof box to a NT40 SP5 server? NT4.0 is just using workgroup, no domains. DNS and Wins is OK, and I am able to ping the NT4.0 box by IP and N/W name just fine. However when I got to seach for the NT server, nothing is found. Other W2K boxes on the same network are found fine. My XP box is on a different network segment from the NT box. Any idea's?
