tourettes 0 Posted March 20, 2000 My event log is filled with these two messages : The Open Procedure for service "RemoteAccess" in DLL "G:\WINNT\System32\rasctrs.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code returned is data DWORD 0. The description for Event ID ( 2001 ) in Source ( rasctrs ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: . So what's wrong? MiXeLpLiKz 0 Posted March 23, 2000 I ran into this same problem... I can tell you what service is giving you the problem, but not how to fix it. You have enabled Routing and Remote Access, and it is not configured correctly. If you set this service to start "manually", you will no longer get these messages. But, if you want to use Routing or Remote Access (for VPN, incoming dialup connections, etc), you will obviously need this service to run...if that is the case, I would say search MS's knowledge base and reseach how to configure this service.
