Tiberian Sun & W2k- problem, do you believe it?

Recommended Posts

Hello all, maybe someone had same problem and successfully solved it- Tiberian Sun shows "Memory cannot be "read"" and refuses to run at all. It happened after installing SP1 and new mobo and videocard...

Maybe someone saw similar message and knows what it means actually?

When those "memory cannot be read" errors appear on my screen it's time for a format and a clean install smile It gets very annoying when this happens. Plus I get a NTkernel error when I install new hardware. I have no idea why NT is soo damn picky on new hardware. But ooooh the stability. I have never got BSOD yet, unlike 9X which was a very common occurence during the day smile I have ECC ram from crucial (512 to be exact). I asked them about it and they told me that a fresh install usually fixes it. Files do become corrupt overtime. No suchthing as an error free OS smile But Windows 2000 is pretty close to it. Try a clean install with your new hardware. Remember install the OS than update immediately to SP1. Make sure everything is updated before installing new drivers for your hardware.

Well, seems like complete reinstall didn't help! :-)

Could it be problem with SP1?

As sign on CD says-"This is the new Retail version of w2k pro with the sp1 already part of the install"

Noway I can get rid of it...

Brand, eh?

Cusl2, Celeron-366... well, it doesn't matter now!

But here's some good news!

I solved this stupid problem- it was caused by absent latest TS patch!

Now all works fine! With/w/o SP1

Thank you everybody!
