Crazy, small problem with Half-Life, Win2K and 770 Ultra TNT

Recommended Posts

Strange problem.. with Half-Life..

Running latest version. CLEAN INSTALL OF WIN2K...

When launching Half-Life everthing seems fine.. Finally when game launches I still can see the previous screen before the game launch screen over the top of the current game..

Ya know the sceen before you launch game that has all the options, like Multiplayer, Create Lan game, Custom game, Options... Well its that screen in a 1/4 of my game screen.. So basically I when I am playing I cant see the top corner of the game... If you split your mointor into 4 equal squares it takes the top left square of the screen..

NOW if I hit ESC in the game, go back to the config screen, then hit RESUME game and go back to half-life game in progres the black box is gone and everthing is FINE AND PERFECT..

Using latest ref drivers from nvidia... I never had this problem with Win 98 and 98se...

I cannot figure it out.. Its driving me crazy evertime I join a game I have to ESC to config screen then come back to the game...

Any ideas would be great!!!

Maybe you're exceeding the Horizontal Scan Range of your monitor, had those problems with a geForce and old 21" monitor, if your monitor has other refresh ranges on his back/in manual than shown with powerstrip (or such) then try to adjust the values.

Or have you tried deleting(after backup) your config.cfg and let hl create a new one?

Hope it helps a little
