Editors of Where the Wild Things Are at LAFCPUG - October 28 - Published on 10/26/09

 

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

The next meeting of the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group will be Wednesday, October 28, 2009 beginning at 6:45PM at the Gallery Theater in Hollywood California. This meet will feature film editors Eric Zumbrunnen and Erik Jessen who will discuss and show off the Final Cut Pro workflow they developed for the just released and much anticipated film from Spike Jonze, "Where the Wild things Are."

 

Los Angeles, CA - The next meeting of the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (lafcpug) will be Wednesday, Oct 28, 2009 beginning at 6:45PM at the Gallery Theater in Hollywood California. lafcpug will welcome film editors Eric Zumbrunnen and Erik Jessen who will discuss and show off the Final Cut Pro workflow they developed for the just released and much anticipated film from Spike Jonze, "Where the Wild things Are."

 

Editor Eric Zumbrunnen has edited the films "Being John Malkovich" and "Adaptation," as well as iconic music videos such as Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice and bjork's "It's oh, So Quiet." He has also edited dozens of commercials and won a ACE "Eddie" award for "Being John Malkovich."

 

Erik Jessen was first assistant editor on the film "Sky Captain and The World Of Tomorrow," one of the first big budget effects heavy films to use Final Cut Pro. He was also editor on a global Christmas Coke campaign in 2006, editor on a proof of concept piece for Paramount called John Carter of Mars" and many other projects. Also scheduled to appear will be Jon Thorn from AJA who will show off the Ki Pro, the tapeless video recording device that records high-quality Apple ProRes 422 QuickTime files.

 

Jonathan Houser of Cinemak, author of the just released iPhone app, "Hitchcock" will fly down from Seattle to show it off in person. Hitchcock for iPhone and iPod Touch is a mobile storyboard and pre-visualization composer designed for Directors, Directors of Photography, Producers, Writers, Animators, Art Directors, film students and anyone who wants to be able to visualize their story.

 

Rounding out the evening will be another edition of "Stump The Gurus" featuring FCS experts, Larry Jordan, Michael Alberts and Brian Gary, and finally, lafcpug's World famous Raffle.
